Glad dillian Whyte is ok because that punch could have been fatal but in a way I'm glad he lost , last night was the beginning of the end for me boxing is dying with the likes of fight camp, I respect hearn for doing something different but that was the poorest ppv I think I have ever seen, the first fight was clearly a robbery in everybody's eyes apart from Adam Smith, it was such a robbery that they didn't even have post fight interviews!!! Second fight Adam Smith trying to convince everybody that a Croatian midget doorman could be the next big thing his opponent was an embarrassment the referee even helped him up so he could carry on , never in 35 years of watching boxing have I ever seen anything like that seems to be as it's in Eddie hearns garden anything goes, Kongo Vs clay ok half decent fight but worthy of a ppv event? No way, then we had to spend 10 rounds of Adam Smith drooling over Katie Taylor but it wasn't that impressive tbh and then the main event and even though povetkin won with a brilliant punch povetkin looked so **** it was embarrassing watching a man not being able to do what his mind was telling him, worst ppv card I can remember and sucknto death of commentary that's not even biased because the away fighter may as well not bother because he would never get any praise from Adam Smith, disgusting PR bull**** shite event corrupt judges and **** fighters making a fortune , boxing could well and truly be over !!!

    Paragraphs! Ffs.

I will admit, Smith needs to go. He's better off behind the scenes, as he can't keep it professional when commentating.

And his phrases are BEYOND annoying.

"A family man, a fighting man!"

"The pride of *insert hell-hole here*"

    "It's been a long journey..."

The sad about our commentators is that, although SOME of them are stupidly knowledgeable (Macklin/Bellew) they're too biased. That or they're absolutely clueless.

Bernstein, Woodhall, Jones, McGuigan... much better and less biased options out there, starting with those few.

One off punches are not the dangerous ones, its numerous punches that are dangerous

If you got sucked into thinking that ppv was value for money then you are part of the problem?!

All the British matchroom lads all know each other really well, you get no impartiality at all. The commentary at times is like a sales pitch for the home fighter. Shite and annoying

He was worse than ever last night
Whyte fighting a perfect fight, Taylor part of team GB
Going on like Kongo vs Clay was the second coming of Hearns vs Haggler

I could go on but its painful

LOL at Matthew Macklin and Anthony Bellew being described as "stupidly knowledgeable" ffs.

Smith is horrific. There was no mention of povetkin landing ANY shots in the first 4 rounds

Might get a bit of stick for this, but other than nelson much prefer BTs coverage in general. Think it says a lot for Adam smith own opinion of himself that we know who he is.

Channel 5 last night had George Groves doing the analyst role very well as well as Nick Halling presenting- it was far superior to the usual Sky biased coverage.

They have both taken too many punches, Macklin in particular. Sky stooges.

I remember hammering Jim Watt, Nick Halling and others. I think I owe them an apology, they don't seem that bad now, I actually miss "Jim Watt Bingo" and the CLASSIC "Bang On The Chen".

But Adam Smith and Matt Macklin are far worse, far far worse. So bad I think they justify a red button option to turn off fight commentary. So you can hear crowds and punches but no commentary whatsoever.

The only reason they don't give me that red button option is because nobody would listen to them, they wouldn't have a job.

Andy Clarke tries, well he tried, he started out well on Sky, honest in what he saw, said it how it was but he has slowly morphed in to a company man.

The problem with the Sky Team is bias, a sort of natural bias, they want to rub shoulders with fighters, be their "friends" and they love the IFL interviews and all the other little perks of the job, they are little stars in their own right in their minds.

So it's very hard to do that, go out for dinner, have meetings, talk to and mixed with all these Matchroom fighters and then get on air and tell the viewer the harsh reality sometimes that the fighter they "know" and like on a personal level are getting beat.

Something needs to change, I understand social media and digital clicks are vitally important but there needs to be some distance between fighters and networks/commentators to allow Commentators to speak freely without the fear of offending or upsetting fighters and then not getting that access to them.

So maybe have a separate Team, Adam Smith and Macklin can do interviews, mix, get exclusive access behind the scenes and then have a few commentators who don't mix with the fighters, who can speak freely, call what's happening instead of what they want/wanted to happen.
