Used to like Matthew Macklin but since the start of these matchroom shows he has been truly awful. So biased towards the home fighters its untrue

Yep. The lack of impartiality from the Sky pundits has reached new levels over the past 5 years. Some of them may as well be on the Matchroom payroll they are that set on promoting the fighters, regardless of what is actually happening.

The commentary is beyond terrible, it's a sales pitch for the matchroom fighter. Can't seen it changing whilst Hearn is the exclusive promoter for sky.

I don't mind Smith in his ifl interviews but he needs to stay away from commentary.

Smith actually interviews really well, and gives props to fighters that fight on other platforms. Shame about his commentary

I've heard this nonsense spouted by all the Matchroom stooges since last night. What the hell does it mean? Whyte is 32 and a seasoned campaigner, he's been in with a lot of good fighters and should be in his prime now. He was "learning on the job" 5 years ago against AJ but not now.

That line is bizarre. They've clearly had a memo from someone to be trotting it out, a media briefing they call it.

Does anyone know what happened to Gary Norman who used to front a boxing show on sky?

Not really much to add to what everybody has said, other than it’s not just a Sky thing. Ever since Haymon took all his fighters to Showtime seven or eight years ago and Warren started BoxNation it ushered in this era of exclusivity where broadcasters are tied to one promoter and vice versa, to the point where it’s hard to draw the line between it being an impartial, independent broadcaster and essentially a PR mouthpiece of the promotional entity you are involved with. BT are the same, ESPN, Fox and DAZN are just as bad in the States, but there is something about the way Sky do it that just irks a bit more.

All the channels I mentioned above push the same sort of agenda as Sky and have the same biases, but with Smith and co. it’s just the absolute desperate nature to be part of the show and the ‘gang’ that really winds me up. Smith, Scott and Woolhouse are all head over heels that they are colleagues with the likes of Macklin, Bellew and Joshua.

**** like having Hearn as a pundit is outrageous when you think about it, then the company jolly ups where they all head off to Saudi, Vegas or New York when even for peak Hatton and Naz, Dempsey and the lot used to be in the studio.

I get the need for a good relationship and everything, but it is far too chummy, bordering on sickening at times.

I thought Groves and Woodhall were excellent. Levels above the Sky / Matchroom posse.
