Lack of sympanthy for Whyte

It’s not lack of sympathy, it’s people who knew how good he really was and was fed up with the matchroom hype and his self entitled attitude.

 

Not PPV material and milked that as much as he could. All for boxers getting paid but if they need to pull PPV stunts for non events then they’re in a bubble and getting too much.

 

Diddums....Sky/Matchroom backed multimillionaire fighter gets several PPV headline spots despite being very limited and gets bingo’d by a shot to pieces cherry pick.

I feel sympathy for boxing fans who can’t afford to pay £20 for a PPV due to these extremely difficult times.

 

He just got paid a fortune why would anyone feel sorry for him? He will go back to his millions and forget about it soon enough until his next PPV at the end of the year.

I’m reading a lot of people thinking he’ll win the rematch as well. I think he’ll get stopped again.

 

Why would I feel sorry for someone who is going down in history as the recipient of one of the greatest knockouts of all time?

 

It was bad how the wbc treated him. Most people who know there boxing though, knew he wasn't going to beat Joshua Wilder or Fury. There was talk of him fighting Ruiz or Pulev aswell and that would have ended up equally bad for him. He did very well to scrape past Parker and Rivas. Just a case of Povetkin being a step too far, and his luck ran out so to speak.

 

The only time in boxing I feel sympathy for someone is when I see a blatant robbery, more so at a lower level when a win could be the difference between a particular boxer having to work a full time job along with boxing or being able to box full time.

When an already multi-millionaire, makes even more millions and gets starched in the process, I don't think there's any need for sympathy. Especially when you factor in he'll most likely make millions more in a rematch that will no doubt also be on PPV.

Also, it's boxing, there's only a few ways to lose, and this time it was a KO. Either he's good enough to win a rematch and he'll move on to a title shot down the line, or he'll lose again and re-evaluate. Something that most boxers do at some point in their career but without the security of being able to retire financially set for life.

Basically, Dillian will be fine, he doesn't need or warrant sympathy.

 

Sympathy for not getting a WBC title shot (to a degree) but no sympathy for the number of PPVs.

He's been involved in 5 PPVs and headlined 4 PPVs now.

 

Did he show sympathy when Wilder got banjoed or did he laugh as hard as Ive ever seen anybody laugh>?

 

He's a multi multi multi millionaire for **** all.

I was so happy when Povetkin clocked him, the clown has no class or respect. Seeing him turn away when Povetkin offered him a handshake was pathetic and about right for him.

 

No way do I think Whyte beats Fury. But nobody does. But the others aren’t any great shakes and levels ahead of Whyte in my opinion especially Wilder who he was mandatory for.

Why don’t people want Fury to lose for the failed drug tests?

Again, I’m not a major Whyte fan but I agree with the op about the hate of him. I also agree that I’d never feel sorry for somebody who has that much money, especially a boxer who only works 20 weeks a year (don’t care how hard) when there’s people in the real world, boxing and normal genuinely struggling.

 

I don't think we'll ever see a boxer earn so much money without challenging for a world title. It took a very unusual set of circumstances for it to happen. Him being a mandatory taking hard fights was one of them. No sympathy required, he knew the path he was taking and I'm sure has no regrets.

 

Combination of an overinflated ego, turning down fights behind closed doors whilst maintaining he's some sort of terminator who will fight everyone, dodgy PED record and lastly, the way he talks out of the side of his mouth.

All of the above contributed to many people being glad he got sparked out on Saturday.
