I still have Whyte above Povetkin Pov was down twice and the flow of the fight was going against him but this is HW boxing and as the saying goes “one punch can change everything”! Whyte though was clearly the better fighter up to that point and I can’t see Povetkin getting the win in the rematch. It does though demonstrate a couple of other things: Joshua’s dominance of Povetkin and eventual KO of him in Round 5 looks all the more impressive It also demonstrates why Wilder never wanted to share the ring with Povetkin Almost everybody is demoting Whyte completely out of the top 5 after one loss to a proven quality Heavyweight which came after he’d dominated the fight. Whyte has a much better resume than Wilder yet Deontay keeps his 3rd best spot after a devastating loss in his last fight and and being outclassed in the fight before that! I haven’t written either off but Wilder drops further than Whyte after his last 2 performances where he’s been badly exposed! 1. Joshua 2. Fury 3. Whyte 4. Povetkin 5. Wilder
Champion: Fury 1. Joshua 2. Wilder 3. Ruiz 4. Usyk 5. Hunter I don't have Fury in the count because he's "the champion". I'd have Povetkin at 6, everyone (without bias) knows Hunter should've been given the nod against him. (And yes I think Usyk and Hunter both beat Ruiz but Ruiz is 1-1 against the number 2 guy) I'd have Whyte drop directly below Povetkin.
1. Fury 2. Anthony Joshua 3. Usyk 4. Wilder 5. Povetkin I know whyte was winning the fight before the knockout. But Wilder was losing both times to Ortiz before he pulled out the KO punch and no one suggested Ortiz was better than Wilder.
I'm still seeing so many Usyk votes. Can someone explain how someone who's not fought anyone in the top 10 can be considered top 5?
1. Povetkin 2. Andy Ruiz 3. Tyson Fury 4. Filip Hrgovic 5. Anthony Joshua Povetkin is on top because of his resume, longevity and discipline. Ruiz on 2nd because he wiped the floor with AJ. Hrgovic 4th, because reminds me of Vitaly. AJ is on the bottom because he lost embarrassingly to Ruiz.
Champ Fury 1. Joshua 2. Povetkin 3. Ruiz 4. Wilder 5. Usyk (moves up when he actually fights and wins in division)
1. Anthony Joshua 2. Tyson Fury 3. Andy Ruiz Jr 4. Michael Hunter 5. Alexander Povetkin Would put Usyk 3rd just going off previous merit, but it wouldn't quite be fair until he humiliates Chisora.
Deontay Wilder was the WBC Heavyweight Champion for FIVE YEARS and made 11 title defenses. He's knocked out everyone he's faced as a pro except for Tyson Fury, the WORLD champ, who he floored twice in their first fight and successfully defended his WBC title against. Deontay Wilder made as many successful title defenses as Sonny Liston, Gene Tunney, Max Baer, Max Schmeling, Jersey Joe Walcott, Riddick Bowe, Jim Braddock, Ingemar Johansson, John Tate, Tim WItherspoon, Gerrie Coetzee, Greg Page, Tony Tubbs, Trevor Berbick, Bonecrusher Smith, Tony Tucker, Buster Douglas, Ray Mercer, Tommy Morrison, Corrie Sanders, Frank Bruno, Charles Martin, Joseph Parker, and Dillian Whyte (with his "interim" belt) successfully made COMBINED. Anthony Joshua got knocked out by Andy Ruiz and has never fought the #1 heavyweight in boxing in his entire career. So, yes, I rate Wilder above freaking Anthony Joshua. Why on earth wouldn't I? A five-year heavyweight reign, 11 defenses and one loss to the World champ (who he floored twice) is better than anything Joshua or anyone other contenders have done. WTF has Michael Hunter or Povetkin or Whyte ever won? (LOL) Or Hrgovic? Who keeps rating him? It's getting comical.
Lmao in their last fights, Wilder got his ass handed to him royally and was stopped in seven while Joshua pitched a shut out in a masterclass over the unified champion. When Joshua lost in seven to Ruiz you'd have laughed at anyone who rated Joshua above Wilder. Try and have some objectivity now that the shoes on the other foot.
Who the feck has Wilder fought though? Joshua has beaten Champions! He's got all the belts except one and has an exceptional record against top 10 opponents. Wilder's only two notable fights are Fury and Ortiz. Fury spanked him the first time, and he got a lucky draw, Fury was fully fit 2nd time and Wilder wasn't even anywhere near him. It wasn't even a fight, it was Obliteration. Wilder was fighting taxi cab drivers for most of his career. Ortiz was an impressive victory, but it's his only victory against anyone of any real quality. Joshua lost vs Ruiz because of bad decision making/tactics. He DOMINATED Ruiz the 2nd fight. It wasn't even a contest. Ruiz couldn't handle Joshua's jab and had no answer. If Joshua had did that the first time, Ruiz would have lost.
Joshua put on a "master class" against a 300-pounder who wasn't even ranked when Joshua stepped in the ring against him in fight one and got dropped four times and quit. Wilder's five-year-reign and 11 defenses, with his only loss coming against the best in the world, deserves respect. Certainly more than Joshua's loss does.
Wilder has fought the WORLD champion twice. And floored the world champion twice. And successfully defended his WBC title against the world champion once. When did Joshua fight the world champion? (He never fought Fury or faced anyone who beat Fury.) When did Joshua floor the world champion? When did Joshua successfully defend against the World champion? Never. Tyson Fury is the #1 Heavyweight. The champ. Wilder is #2. If Wilder beats Fury in December, then Wilder is #1 and the World Champ. While Joshua fights Pulev, another relic. If Pulev beats Joshua, who is going to rank Pulev #1? (LOL) Everyone REALLY knows who the top heavyweights are. And it isn't Hunter or Povetkin or Joshua or Ruiz. They're just too biased to admit the truth, because they've spent years bashing Wilder and Fury.
