He hasn't, that was a completely different Gary Norman from Sunderland. Gary Norman has worked for various tv networks over the years including BT Sports, PDC Darts and Spurs TV.
I remember Bernstein co-commentating with Alex Arthur on the Taylor v postol fight and he was excellent I thought..kept the obviously biased and excitable Arthur in line.
I just watched the English broadcast and funny how only seconds before the KO Smith was going on about how done Povetkin is. Classic Smith.
It was clear the Sky arse lickers weren't going to give any close rounds to Povetkin, that's why it's always best to spark your opponent clean out!!!
Macklin and Bellew have lost their balls and turn into Matchroom PR men, Bellew is embarrassing these days Adam Smith is far too middle class and doesn't really get it, it's just a job he has ended up as, be like load of middle class Tarquin's doing the football commentary
To be fair Jim Watt used to kind of ruin great fights with negativity and swaying agendas. Hatton-Tszyu was epic to be there and **** to watch with Watt commentating
He did it in the Benn-Eubank and Watson-Eubank fights too, watch the McGuigan ProBox version for excitement. Thank **** he didn't commentate on Hamed-Kelley. He'd of made out it was ****. Bless him.
Was listening to the Fight Disciples pod before and they made the very excellent point that Adam Smith is desperately trying to keep boxing relevant enough for Sky to keep backing it. To do this, he cringely blows smoke up the backside of their chosen A side in an attempt to get the casual audience invested emotionally in the fighter in an attempt to build potential big PPV nights. They made the point that the head of Sky boxing absolutely should not be commentating on fights. V true.
He is wittering on about some nonsense at the precise moment Whyte gets his lights put out. It's hilarious.
If you want me to I may just do that it would be a very long comprehensive look at Smiths reign.Or perhaps I should just reply here
