I don’t think Norton should be a Hall of famer though because Norton came close vs Holmes and beat Ali the first time but other then that he really didn’t do much in his career
He shouldn't be a hall of famer. He has three good wins, and one of them is a robbery. All he did other than that was acquit himself well vs an aging Ali and an injured Holmes. If he's in then Jimmy Young should be too.
My personal criteria is this: Hall of fame fighters should stretch themselves, by either seeking out the most dangerous opponents in their prime, or if under heavyweight, moving up the divisions to cement their legacy. Heavyweights, especially champions now, who are willing and able to fight everyone as close to their primes as possible seems to be fading. Politics are interfering in that.
Become a unified world champion and beat top contenders/ champions of your era. Basically just don’t do what Wilder did - be too scared to challenge yourself and cherry pick your full career.
