I think that’s more to do with whytes personality than anything else

Anybody seen Donkey Whyte's biggest fan, he used to frequent this place quite regularly until about the time his idol was put to sleep by a pensioner.....

Depends if Whyte is psychologically effected by it. You don’t forget punches like that in a hurry.

whyte has done nothing but whinge and cry about the belts being held up & his mandatory position not moving forward...he's now stopping povetkin moving on because after being ktfo it turns out there's a rematch clause...how the f is this allowed? How can the actual title be fought for when there's rematch clauses on interim title fights, absolutely pathetic & no doubt it'll be another ppv mugging

Couldn’t of put it any better. Whyte is box office because he puts it on the line and comes to fight. He is not the slickest but can have a fight and it makes good viewing. He is also in the heavyweight division which helps. I will buy the rematch if it’s ppv. I think Whyte is improving all the time. Any boxer can come unstuck. If anything, the ko makes the rematch more interesting. I fancy Whyte to win the re-match then go on and get his title shot. He certainly deserves it. I can’t understand the negativity towards him. The guy has worked his bollocks off in one of the toughest sports, and earnt a few quid. Good luck to him.

I think suggesting Whyte should retire is an overreaction. Because he's not on the same level as Fury or Joshua and he lost a fight? Should all heavyweights who aren't on Fury and Joshua's level retire once they lose? Whyte is a level or two below the top dogs and lost to somebody else a level or two below the top dogs. Isn't this what we want? Match ups between fighters of the same level, where there's a chance that either fighter might lose? Part of the problem with boxing is fighters are written off too quickly after a defeat. Whyte will never be the best out there, but will still be capable of picking up some good wins against other contenders, while being in danger of losing to some of them too. I don't see the problem with that. Not every boxer can be the best out there, but I am interested in watching good, competitive fights that are evenly matched and there's a few fights like that that Whyte can still be in. The division would be a lot thinner if everybody just retired after getting KO'd. Even though I'm quoting your post scissors, this isn't aimed directly at you, more just the overreaction to Whyte's defeat in general. I just think it should be more acceptable for a boxer to lose a boxing match sometimes!

He did his domestic ppv money thing, fair play. Now get out before you get damaged.

I get your point mate, and don't think Whyte needs to retire either. What does stick in the throat, and you've answered it yourself, is that Whyte is levels below the top heavyweights, but we were being asked to pay the same price on pay per view as if he was a top fighter in a title match.

When someone is hyped so much that it verges on damn lies and deceitfulness and is then found out in spectacular fashion, I can understand the reaction of some posters too. If it was just a regular Saturday night 'free' to air billing, touted as a warm up fight against a game contender and almost retired fighter who was once decent, then it would have sat a lot better with a lot of fans and there wouldn't have been half the reaction.

Given the manner of the KO doesnt he have to stop training for a month? Smacks of desperation from Eddie

Yep they were caught cold by this. They clearly expected Whyte to win. They wouldn’t just stick him in with anyone either - they’re very choosy about opponents and don’t always get it right (see Andy Ruiz).

Imagine if Pulev pulls off another shock..

Eddie is the proverbial conman. Sick of hearing from him to be fair. Sick of his voice.
