This sort of thing makes me question why I even follow boxing.

Brook is done as others have said. He has no business even trying to make that weight again, let alone getting in the ring with a guy as good as Crawford.

Then there's the depressing sight of one of the best guys currently in the sport chasing these meaningless matchups against guys who don't belong at the weight. I don't blame him for the way PBC are operating, but I am losing interest and he can't have long left at the top level.

    It pisses me off frankly.

I agree but Hearn would never put a card that good on.

I think Brook should take it, he's a fighter that fights to his opponents level. Crawford is likely too much for him at this stage but if he is on, prepares correctly and goes to win he will be competitive.

Brook is shot to pieces mate. When was the last time he looked good at 147? He hasn’t been able to make welter for years which is why he keeps weighing in at all these stupid catch weights against absolute bums. He ain’t a welter any more! No dramas it is what it is:

    Kell Brook
    NO Brain
    NO Chin
    NO Heart

    Shot fighter.

He should grab the money and take the inevitable chinning he’ll receive. Wish Crawford would fight someone relevant.

He has to take that really. He’s shot to bits and there is no other money at 147lb for him.

If he can make the weight then I say take it

interested to hear Hearns opinion on this

if they don’t take the fight then something else is going on behind closed doors like maybe brook is getting beat up in sparring?

If Kel wants to be relevant and believes in himself then he should take it.

As for a “pay day” no chance. It’s about 60,000 PPV buys at £20 to cover him. Even against a Liam Smith I’d expect that to do 3/400k at least with the right promotion and solid undercard. That’s a 6/7/8mil pot. So can’t see him taking it for financial reasons

I don’t think anybody’s paying for a washed up Brook and Liam Smith...undercard or not, that’s a standard Saturday fight night and nothing more.

TBH it’s time Brook got his final cheque and rides off into the sunset. He’s useless to Eddie now the Khan fight is 100% dead and Hearn has already alluded to him being a pain in the arse.

Matchroom’s new blood needs to be prioritised now.

Yeah Brook at his best beats the lot at WW. But not today. Not the same fighter anymore and even if he was the cut is simply too much for him to bare now.

Regardless whether it’s Smith or someone else surely you can admit Brook is worth more than 60k PPV buys?

Brook is simply not a PPV fighter - the only significant PPV buys for him these days is when he faces an elite opponent for a one sided pasting.

Then again Eh Day is a World Class Salesman and could sell parking tickets back to Traffic Wardens.

I don’t know mate, Im expecting Hearn to be all for him taking the fight and just asking for the UK rights for sky which obviously wouldn’t be an issue. Outside of a Khan fight, which bizarrely would still sell well with Eddie’s magic PPV touch, I don’t think Brook is worth much in today’s market of financial constraint.

If Kell is willing to fight on as a Saturday fight night operator than fair enough, but he won’t be getting 7 figures, which is why he should take Crawford. If he could somehow win, than of course the situation changes completely.

It’s not just Brook, Eddie has real problems dealing with the likes of BJS who is another expensive irritant who he probably wishes he never signed, now that he can’t get Goldenboy to pay the bill.
