Obviously Usyk and Loma are one and two. After Gvozdyk's somewhat recent retirement, and Postol's awesome performance on Saturday. The biggest opposition which stands out to me is Derevyanchenko and Artem. Right now I'd probably say Postol is a little better, but I think it'd be pretty interesting to see what other names people throw in, and/or argue the order.
As of right now I'd say Postol, but depending on how decisively Sergiy beats Charlo, I can see my opinion changing.
Well, I didn't mean to write it like that, but if everyone retired tomorrow then yeah, I'd rate Usyk higher. Although Loma is clearly more skilled. Since Usyk hasn't done anything in the last year and a half, I wouldn't rate him higher P4P.
Even if Gvozdyk decides to come back in the near future, I'll rank Postol, Derevyanchenko and Dalakian ahead of him. Gvozdyk is probably the most gifted physically Ukrainian fighter since Wladimir Klitschko but he has a one HUGE weakness - his heart and his mind doesn't belong to boxing and he admited it himself in his latest interview.
He doesn't even make my top 10 1. Loma 2. Lomachenko 3. Nomaschenko 4. The Matrix 5. Hi-Tech 6. No Mas Vas 7. No Massing About 8. Usyk 9. Oleksandr Khyzhniak 10. Derevyanchenko
Tossing out Berenchyk as a possible #3...at least on talent, needs a chance to prove it though against tougher competition.
Neck and neck w/ Technician. Both are fully a league below Usyk & Loma, while probably themselves being fully a league above the likes of Bohachuk, Shelestyuk, Khytrov, Berinchyk etc.
Goodness - having a gander there really are quite a few 'above-average but meh' Ukrainian fringe contenders and prospects knocking about, huh? Like, solid amateurs with deep tourney CV's against international competition, and styles that have translated well so far in the pros for busting gatekeeper heads, but...leave you with a bland taste in your mouth and the vague feeling of having wanted and expected more. And nary a championship (not even a WBA regular, or interim!) written in the vast majority of their destinies.
