After Horn was exposed by Crawford, he got beaten again and again. It seemed like everybody knew how to deal with this dirty fighter. Horn's dirty tactics and his ugly fighting style will be gone with him.
I expect him to fight again. I don't think he's done by a long shot despite the fact friends & family will be in his ear telling him to give it away. I don't think he'll give it away b/c he & I both know that he's got something left to give. You're a long time retired, so he may as well give it. He needs to rebuild slowly and get three or four wins under his belt against lower level opposition. Win them & he can take a big fight. First fight back should be against the Jeff Fenech trained Jack Brubaker. That will pit Fenech against Horn's trainer, Glenn Rushton. A real grudge match. I think Brubaker is covered in ink applied by none other than our very own @MidniteProwler. So that fight will go off like you wouldn't believe. Can't wait for it first up next year.
Boxing owes John Wayne Parr one back. I'd like to see Horn compete against him in the art of eight limbs or in kickboxing. It would be great. a documentary crew films Horns training and preparation for his maiden voyage and leap.
Horndog's path back: 1. Jack Brubaker - Trained by Jeff Fenech & inked by @MidniteProwler - what a fight! 2. Wade Ryan - This is an optional one. If Horndog looks bad against Brubaker (I expect him to), he will need another steadier. 3. Bowyn Morgan - New Zealand has played a big role in Horndog's career. Did you see how filthy some of those Kiwis were after the result last Wednesday night? They fair flew for Junior Tszyu fans who were crowing. They were bursting balloons like bubble-wrap. Morgan is one of the their best & is ready for a big step up fight. With a couple of wins under his belt coming in, I think Horndog can step him down. 4. Michael Zerafa - It's one-all between Zerafa & Horndog. Zerafa's win is by stoppage. Horndog's is by miracle. A rubber match is in order. If Junior Tszyu passes on Zerafa, the latter will be looking for this fight also. If Horndog took this fight straight away, he'd be needing another miracle to win. If he builds up to it properly, like he should have done last time, he's a chance to do what he hasn't done in two previous attempts - win by stoppage. Do that & he's back & ready to complete the final chapter of his career. And hopefully with one more miracle still up his sleeve.
I agree that he will probably continue I mean what else is he going to do he is only 32 years old. Brubaker makes sense he is known in Aussie boxing circles and would be a relatively easy win for Horn especially at 154 seeing Brubaker is a blown up Welterweight and doesn't have any defense or power. I think a third fight with Zerafa will happen. I think Horn would be wise to let Tszyu soften Zerafa up a bit first before fighting him again.
You Aussies really need to let it go with Horn. He overachieved with a horrible rule bending style and if you don't like him he got his just desserts over the course of a number of losses, 2 of which were incredibly one sided beatdowns.
He beat Manny fair and square - though ugly and bullying But fair play to the guy. It is truly up to him what comes next....
Horn needs to be trained properly like you people said above. Firstly, he needs to change his style and abandon his dirty tactics. Quit Holding, hugging, head-butting, and lowbrow and stop fighting like a street fighter or a brawler. That ugly fighting style of his doesn't work anymore.
Horndog has only delivered two miracles in his career thus far. His quota is three. Horndog's first miracle was the Manny Pacquiao fight. Not him getting the decision in it, just him getting the fight. None of us had ever heard of him & next thing you know he's fighting Manny in front of 50,000. Miracle right there. His second miracle was winning the Michael Zerafa rematch coming in off a bad kayo defeat. Ridiculous that he took the rematch straight up after such a bad loss. Even more ridiculous is that he managed to win it after being within 30-seconds of being stopped himself. A third miracle at this point would be a competitive world title challenge at Junior Middleweight. A title challenge he has earned by winning a series of lead-up fights. If he doesn't have the stomach for them, absolutely, he should give it away. He's had an 8-year pro career to this point. I think he should finish it off properly by fighting for another couple of years culminating in a world title tilt at Junior Middle.
What other choice does he have? he's not skilled, particularly gifted and it's not like he's going to become a ring technician at this point. I think he's done at any decent level . A couple of low level fights and a cash out is what he needs to do.
Well...you may be right. If Horn can't really be changed then he will become a grade C fighter very soon.
