Was the Whyte v Povetkin fight classed as a eliminator ? If it was should their be a rematch ? If it wasn’t then fair enough

Good question, supposedly it was for the wbc belt but the wbc is also requiring Fury to defend it against the winner of Whyte vs povetkin 2, it really doesn’t make sense, the fact that two fighters are holding the wbc title just shows how messed up the system is

It wasn't an elminator. An actual(BS) title was on the line.
Fury was supposed to defend vs Whyte, who held the interim belt. Nothing was said about if Povetkin sprung the upset.

There is 0 logoc behind all of this, like you said.
The only thing that makes sense is that it wasn't an official elminator, thus Whyte can fight Povetkin however many times he wants to, until the WBC call forth a mandatory challanger.

No. Not with a rematch clause.

It was an eliminator to sell the fight as a do or die event, and Whyte as a brave people's champ willing to put it all on the line fighting the best, even after waiting 1000 days in poverty.

Now that Whyte lost, it was no longer an eliminator, just a voluntary fight and Whyte will get a do over so he can get the right outcome.

If Whyte wins the rematch it will once more be an eliminator, and he will be a brave people's champ putting it all on the line.

This is why Hearn/Sky/Whyte fans deserve only contempt.

If Whyte won it was eliminator. If he didn't it wasn't.

    Rematchroom rules.
