Most explosive, and probably top 3 h2h. Would rank higher at the weight if he hadn’t moved up to heavy.

h2h he's a tough match up, very slippery and a pretty gifted puncher in and out the pocket. A big cw also.

What's more dangerous than trying to smash an already bottled Chisora over the head with a tripod whilst he was down on the ground?

    The key words here are:

    Fast & Heavy Handed.

I’m not sure any cruiserweight beats him in those categories, though I believe a fit Holyfield ties him when it comes to combinations, Haye could throw one explosive shot faster.

Some good points but when most people talk about haye they tend to say he wasn't all that good.... Now I'm not a massive haye fan and did he haVe flaws... Sure... Stamina and chin were question marks when he was draining to cruiser, lulls in fights and made things more difficult than they needed to be... But he unified the division and beat some good fighters while he was there and went on to do OK at heavyweight.. Not nearly as well as he talked he would but I think the chisora win and manner of it have aged very well.

Is he my top cruiser of all time.. No.. Is he dangerous... Absolutely.. A guy with that kinda speed and dynamite in his fists... You'd have to be switched on throughout and I feel haye ironed out enough of his flaws as he went through his career to be at least a top 3 cruiser. And sure as **** he was dangerous.

The usyk fight result is just my opinion cos while I love usyks attitude he doesn't outright wow me... Same as Crawford doesn't tbh... Very good at everything but he's had his struggles as well... Off top of my head breidis fight... Who can blow hot and cold... And I give bellew a few rounds against usyk... And I don't rate bellew at all.... I think it'd be closer than you think a peak version of both

People constantly talk about him like he was one of the greatest CWs of all time and the hardest hitting. Look at some of the comments in this thread. Needless to say, both statements are false. I rate him on his achievements, but they aren't unique in any way and he did them against one mediocre fighter and one decent but not outstanding one. And he struggled against the latter. Then he moved up and we never saw him make any defences of his titles. He never distinguished himself from the pack the way Usyk has done, and I don't see why he should get any benefit of the doubt regarding his chances against world class fighters.

Usyk might have his struggles against Haye, but like everyone else he's faced sooner or later he'll take over and that'll be the end of Haye. Especially the gassy CW version that hated pressure.

There's either too much made of title defenses or not enough... Why hang around at cruiserweight.. He had 3 of the belts... Without checking I don't remember too many serious contenders that would've threatened Hayes reign at the time.. Why not move up and get that heavyweight money... It makes far more sense than sticking around... Haye is one of the greatest cruisers... The division hasn't been around forever and he was a unified champ... Put a list together of the top 10 cruisers and apart from the fact he would be in it I would only pick one off the top of my head who would definitely beat him and that's holyfield... I can see how others could beat him as well for reasons I've already mentioned but I can also see how he could just as easily beat them

If he's top three H2H where does that put a fourth year old Carl Thompson?

This. Only cruiser I’d pick with confidence to beat Haye is Holyfield.

Thompson beat a green Haye who threw the kitchen sink at him in the early rounds and gassed. He lost through lack of experience more than anything.

Usyk would have boxed his ears off and stopped him in the 10th.
Haye was overrated, never cleaned house as a CW, but definitely a big puncher with a shaky chin.

You have to admit it was pretty awesome that he dropped Chisora and Chisora’s trainer that’s night?

Del Boy and Don Charles didn't stand a chance. He even left his own trainer - the dark lord Adam Booth - with a gash on his head in a case of rage fuelled friendly fire.

No, he wouldn`t have stopped Qawi in 2 rounds and he couldn`t stop Thompson.
