It could go either way. Tyson may get under Fury's punches/guard and do some serious damage or Fury might keep Tyson at bay and outpoint him.
I’ve got no issue with you picking Fury over Louis, I’m a Fury fan, really rate him. However the way you’re dismissing Joe Louis and what he brings to the table just simply shows a lack of knowledge.
Fury's skillset is way ahead of Louis and he has way too much range and height for Louis to get off. Fury would box circles around Louis and either win a shut out or stop Louis late after a sustained beating.
What? Is Fury the most overrated technician in division history? He's great at using his height and reach advantage and he's quick for his size, but he's far from master boxer. People who believe that Fury is faster or more skilled than Louis are delusional. Louis faced much faster and more skilled fighters than Fury.
What does he bring to the table ?!? He's smaller, weaker, is at a reach disadvantage and he's flat footed. Sure, he might have great fundamentals and good punching ability, but these are useless if he can't land. Fury will outbox him all night long. And if he gets mad, he KOs him.
Flat footed? Look at his footwork when circling Baer on the outside and using the jab. This content is protected
He might not be the master boxer, but he doesn't need to be. Those assets you listed are more than enough to take care of Louis. Ali was not a master boxer either, he relied on his physical assets, yet look at what he achieved. Perhaps some were indeed faster and more skilled, but that does not mean they were more of a threat than Fury.
Louis all day. I honestly think theres too many people here that dont watch the films of some of the old fighters befor they make these outrageous claims and form these mind boggling opinions
Yeah, just like Louis, who looked like **** in the first Schmeling fight, and less than a million dollars against Farr and Godoy. Not to mention the first Conn fight! But I don't think, we're judging him on those fights... so why are we judging Fury on his worst performances? Not saying, he would beat Louis (though not that crazy an idea, imo)... but at the very least, he would be a very difficult opponent for any past champion.
This is reasonable post and I agree with everything you said here. Fury wouldn't be easy fight for any fighter.
