Povetkin’s punch resistance and legs have gone.

I dunno, the first knock down you showed omitted the huge flush right hand he took just before it, it was a 2 punch combo that dropped Povetkin the first time and he got right back up and took it straight to Whyte after getting up.

The first knock down was a flash knockdown. He was squared up, already moving backwards and was caught with an uppercut while moving out. So I think it was more due to the fact his feet were not set under him so he wasn't able to absorb the shot as well.

Maybe he is less durable but I don't think the Whyte knockdowns are definite proof of that. But he's clearly passed his best, he's lost a step or two since his peak, I think he would of KO'ed Whyte early at his best in a pretty one sided affair.

If Povetkin landed an overhand right or uppercut he’d definitely spark Wilder clean out. Effect would be even worse is Wilder didn’t see it coming. I genuinely think if Povetkin caught Wilder with a similar uppercut he did Whyte he would have been unconscious for an hour and would wake up in a hospital bed connected to a drip.

Can’t really judge it on that tbh considering that uppercut sparks at least 95% of heavyweights.

Slowed up a bit but still an elite level hw. Is doing pretty good considering he had wars with people like Chag and Huck yonks ago.

as already pointed out, with the first Whyte knockdown he'd already been softened up to the nth degree by at least one big shot, like many fighters would have been in that situation he was 'ready to go' if hit with anything that was any stiffer than a joe calzhage slap. and he got up well from it.

but more generally, sure, at Pov's age he's certainly lost at least a little something from most facets of his boxing toolkit, it's totally inevitable.

Hunter badly rocked him twice, arguably had him hurt worse than Whyte, with WHyte, the first was a flash KD, the second he was stunned, but not all over the place. All it says is, Whyte hits slightly harder than Hunter. Yeah... that's a big old No ****. Who is willing to argue otherwise?

However beyond any shadow of a doubt, the thing that's truly pertinent here is this.

    Hunter's Chin>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Whyte's Chin.

And Hunter actually has an argument that he actually beat Sasha. And Whyte........ well.

We had already seen that against Hunter, Povetkin had come close to the down at several points. The chin is not spared by the years and in addition it has been put to the test against Joshua.

Finally, it should be noted that if Povetkin falls, he seems to quickly get back on the water.

I think it's also possible that one might be surprised if Golovkin takes on Canelo in the future.

He didn't drop him, but he had him more rocked than Whyte did during that whole fight.

I do agree about his punch resistance and legs in general though, it's clear they've eroded significantly

Yeah, it's pretty clear watching him that he's faded badly in a lot of ways. Still a solid contender obviously, but there are more opportunities now for opponent's to exploit his flaws. His recovery powers and heart are still excellent, however.

Povetkin said in the post whyte fight that he was really impressed with whytes power and that he can really band. He was genuinely impressed. He never ever said the same thing about wlad or joshua

Hunters really good, and i think he gives Wilder,Fury and AJ fits if they ever sign up to fight him

He wont beat all of them but i strongly believe he would beat at least one of them

Its a coin flip on who though
