I think it's a pickem fight but I disagree with the notion that Holmes was well past his prime in 85'. Years later he beat a very good Ray Mercer, should have got the decision against a prime Oliver McCall and he also gave a prime Holyfield all kinds of hell.

All that said, Norton vs Spinks is very much a fight that could go either way to me. I could see Spinks using his wheels and superior boxing ability to secure a UD but then again it would not surprise me to see a physically stronger and determined Norton wear Spinks down and get a UD or possible late stopage. It's to close to call with confidence.

Real good fight this - yeah, would love to see this one. I think Spinks would either have to get on his bike and use his awkward angles to try and make Norton reset or get his respect early and surprise Ken with his offensive arsenal.

Trouble for Spinks is there's no devastating KO power that Norton needs to fear here (not from the heavyweight version of Spinks anyway) and Norton tended to do well against boxers. I think his pressuring style would wear Spinks down over the course of 15 rounds and be enough to edge it by MD.

Norton by decision. He comes on in the late rounds.

Your right. And if I remember right Cooney wasn't ranked in the top 10. It was a money grab by Spinks . I'm sure he knew Cooney wasn't a serious threat.
