This content is protected This content is protected https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...on-his-condition-after-his-last-fight.651116/ Eating one meal a day is a myth. Rocky ate multiple times a day. Charlie Goldman stated the only issue he had with Marciano was that he wanted to do too much roadwork. His diet was the epitome of health by the standards back then, he ate steak by the pound and wouldn't even have processed sugar in his tea, opting for honey instead. Sources have suggested he's ran up to 15 miles in a single go, sparred nearly 300 rounds in a typical camp and he put himself in camp for over 6 months for his first match with Ezzard Charles. He would not receive phone calls, try new foods or touch unknown people 2 weeks before a fight.
Contemporary articles are very consistent on his regimen. It sounds like a day at the spa. 4 or 5 miles of running in the morning, some ping pong, hit the bag for half an hour and nap. Some days he sparred a few rounds. I guarantee Bernard Hopkins trained harder.
Right so his stamina and conditioning was pretty much all natural then? Sounds like the was pretty much on holiday during his camps yet came into his fights in supreme shape, interesting.
I know he used to run a marathon with a midget strapped to his back.To be fair he was a very small midget.
NAAAAH, he was a lazy ****er as he said himself ,"why should I work my balls off when I'm only fighting these old granddads"?
I have quoted multiple accounts from multiple training camps on this board... Multiple times. These were contemporary accounts by journalists invited to Rocks camps. Do I need to go back and dig them up for your edification? Rock was a serious pro, nothing more or nothing less. But there have been quite a few like him thru the years.
