The speed is the big issue. Joe better be ready to Eat a piano & a refrigerator because he's got no chance but to break Duboi down after rounds of being a heavy bag.
I think Joe Joyce’s skills and durability will be key to him winning this fight. I like Dubois but he is actually being overrated. The level of competition he has faced has been weak and in this fight he is going to get hit properly and consistently.
He needs to keep the pressure up and not allow Dubois to set his feet. Put him on the backfoot with his jab and weird arm punch combos and smother him up close. It's a winnable fight for him. Dubois is still quite untested and IMO overrated thus far.
Joe looks bad but he's oddly effective and he's done it against decent opposition so far. He has good technique and Foreman-esque clubbing power with his seemingly slow and lumbering shots. He knows all the tricks to be actually boxing very technically and somewhat responsible in defence but he seems to prefer a war. We'll see if his chin holds up to the big shots like it seems to a lot of the time.
Let me bring most of you back down to earth and put this match into perspective. Joe Joyce has beaten..... Bryant Jennings, Bermane Stiverne, Filip Hrgovic, Alexander Ustinov, Viktor Vykhryst, Iago Kiladze, Michael Wallisch, Joe Hanks, Lenroy Thomas (unlike Dave Allen) and Ian Lewison (more impressively than Whyte). Daniel Dubois has beaten Nathan Gorman, Kevin Johnson, Richard Lartey, Ebenezer Tetteh, Kyotaro Fujimoto and Razvan Cojanu. Get a grip.
Yeah a bit worried that Joyce might get caught himself though. I've gone back and forth on this one so many times. Warrens recent actions have me lean towards Joyces direction again.
Joyce telegraphs the slowest right hand you've ever seen He stands upright with his chin in the air This dude will need the best chin in boxing to survive Dubious. & if he survives then pray he is able to physically impose himself on Daniel & tire him out.
...you think Dubois has speed? Don't get me wrong, Joyce could lose a race to a dripping vat of molasses - but they're peas in a pod in that sense.
Yeah Dubois isn't exactly fast, especially when throwing combinations. Dubois might be able to get the first shot off but he won't be able to rattle off a combo and then be gone and with his tendency to stand right in front on his opponents after throwing I suspect he'll be eating a lot of leather if his initial shot doesn't KO Joyce.
Workrate and movement which he does possess. If he uses these then he could beat Dubois - but Fish Eyes is already likely got those scorecards sealed in a envelope with a tidy backhander for the judges.
