Joyce at 3/1 is great value imo.no way he should be that price against a green and untested novice who hasn't beat a top 50 heavyweight.

Think this one could come down to who has the better chin. So far Joyce we know can take a good shot. Dubois we will see be his first test really

Maybe? Both are not exactly elusive.

Joyce we've seen get hit flush a number of times, that's pretty much a given with such an aggressive style where he's constantly throwing.

Dubois too though gets hit quite a bit. Snijders caught him clean with a right hand early in round 1 but it had no effect as Snijders is a cruiserweight with little power. Gorman too caught Dubois with some nice shots early before he was overwhelmed but again Gorman is no puncher. Lartey is the only one that seemed to stun him momentarily.

Will be interesting to see how each copes with each others power.

This is a career dictating fight, an intense fight for both.

The loser of this fight will suffer a pretty bad setback.

Joyce will need to prepare very well for this fight, this fight will be brutal, Joyce will need to dig and probably scrape his barrel very deep in this fight.

There is real bad blood between the two. When even your opponents mother goes after you, after her son manhandled you as a kid, will switch anybody on. DDD can't afford being made fun of by Joyce gloating, "Maybe next year mate".

Joyce could be making a big mistake comparing resume's with DDD's experience, age factor etc. This is the type of bout were resume's don't matter, we all have seen bottom clubs outperforming top clubs when push comes to shove.

Joyce will need to keep DDD off of him, if Joyce can't manage to keep DDD off of him, I truly believe that Joyce will be mauled within 5 rounds.

Credit to DDD for taking the fight against Joyce at this moment in his career, he could have easily waited a year or two by the standards of making fights these days.

DDD genuinely must feel the urge that he's ready to bully his bully in "devastating fashion"...

That video isn't available in the US...but I found another. If you mean the overhand right that ices Kyotaro with 54 seconds remaining in the second round?

...um, yes, that is absolutely very slow. Powerful, sure. Not in the least bit fast (even accounting for this being heavyweight).

Wilder, for all his ungainliness, throws his right hand (even at its windmilliest) twice as fast - and his is even more powerful, especially when he straightens it.

Fury? Faster, much. Joshua? Ditto. I won't even bring up the likes of Ruiz. :sisi1

Going to agree there was surprised when this one got arranged. Normally one is happy to duck it.

Like I said earlier if Joyce is still on his feet after the first three rounds or so. Then it's going to be a slugfest

Dubois couldn't put away Kingpin so he isn't putting away Joyce. I know Kingpin shipped a lot of punishment in that fight but no way is he at at his current age tougher than Joyce. I saw Joyce eat a massive right hand from Stiverne and barely flinch, while Dubois was rocked by a clipping punch by Richard Lartey. Joyce can defo take this.

I could shoot out a right thrice as fast as that when I'm half asleep first thing in the morning standing at the toilet taking a leak.:sisi1

Joyce couldn't put Jennings away either, the kingpin had faced better opponents compared to Jennings when the Kingpin faced DDD.

Stiverne KO's were against contenders at best.

Dubois seems to have a lot of people fooled into thinking he's some athletic Joshua clone that's going to blast through Joyce with his blistering fast hands and devastating power. I'm not going to write anyone off this early in his career, but Dubois doesn't seem like anything near to what his fans say he is. He looks lumbering and robotic to me, not near as lumbering as Joyce but a lot more readable, like one of those converted athletes like Michael Grant who does some basic things pretty well but lacks that canniness that true fighters possess.

Joyce, for all his sloth, knows how to make his awkwardness work. Fighters a lot faster and (on paper) more skilled than him have a really hard time dealing with his non-stop come forward pressure. I don't see anything Dubois does that would counter that. He might (will) catch Joyce with some hard shots, but unless he can drop Joyce I see him getting ground down and becoming increasingly ragged as Joyce begins to catch him more often, and if he can't keep Joyce off him I don't see him having the skills on the backfoot to make Joyce pay for his openness.

Fair play to Dubs if he beats Joyce though. That'd be a win that should automatically catapult him into the top ten/fifteen.

Joyce knows he's going to get demolished. It's why he, the guy running out of time and with masses more experience in both the ams and the pros had to be coaxed into taking this fight.

I've said it loads of times on here, anyone backing Joyce needs to give Daniel his dues when he goes through Joyce - stand by what you said about Joyce and don't denigrate the win post fight in an attempt to pour cold water on DDD's coming out party. It's going to be brutal and he'll no doubt still have detractors this will look a mismatch from the opening bell until it's stopped IMO.
