What does Wilder need to do to beat Fury in their 3rd fight?

Any other heavyweight in Wilder's situation and I would say no chance.

But Wilder is the definition of a puncher's chance.

If he catches Fury clean with his right then anything can happen.

I agree with the previous comment, make it a 4 round fight. Don't conserve energy. Just let your hands go.

 

What I believe he needs to do is improve his inside fighting, out muscle Fury in the clinch, and bring the fight to Fury. He needs to incorporate at least two of these changes to compete.

Unfortunately I don’t think he can.

 

He needs to counter Fury`s jab when over committs with it.

He needs a great jab. In fact, he could probably work on that jab in training to the virtual exclusion of the right hand, or at least only throw the right hand after a jab.

With a great jab he would be twice as effective. The fact that he neglects it cripples him severely...look at Liston and Foreman, both had fantastic jabs that had everything to do with their dominance.

He gets that great jab, he wins the title again.

 

If that was true, how come Fury was knocked down twice and quite nearly out in first fight? How come it was a draw?

Perhaps Fury was his kryptonite in the second fight, but it's hard to say that from an overall perspective. Fury really didn't look that great in the first fight (though I had him winning by a bare point). In fact, he historically and holistically hasn't really looked that good, barring the last win over Wilder.

Fury had a good night, it was by far his most valid victory, and a great victory at that. But the third fight is up in the air imo. Wilder isn't going to let what happened to him that one night happen again, and I imagine he's training that way. So, I wouldn't bet the bank against him.

Wilder to me is the most exciting fighter in heavyweights now, so I honestly hope he beats Fury, whose style never did much for me.

Not wait necessarily, work from the first round, but only start taking chances later.

We're talking about a world where Wilder wins, that's one where Fury doesn't bring his absolute best because he is a matchup nightmare for Wilder.

I don't buy him finding some hole in Fury's game. He has to make it about something more basic, conditioning is as good a chance as any.

 

Honestly, I think it'll be a rerun of the last fight. No need for a Fury running exhibition. Wilder will need to employ the exact gameplan he failed to employ in #2. He will have to chin Fury and wobble him and then throw everything at it. That's it, really. Wilder cannot outbox Fury. We knew that from before fight #1.

 

hes 0-2 so i dont even think there should be a third. Fury vs joshua is the ticket. If they make wilder fury 3 then they need to make hunter joshua or joshua ruiz 3.

 

This is a dangerous fight for Fury. He is overconfident now and Wilder still has that punch. I wouldn't be shocked with Wilder landing one punch and getting Fury out of there. Fury better take him seriously. If he does, it is still a tough fight. If Fury takes him seriously. I see a fight easier than the first fight for Fury but harder than the second.

 

Regardless of what Wilder will need to change or implement, If Wilder doesn't KO Fury in their next fight, consider his career over and his persona finished.

Wilder lost the 1st fight and got beat down and stopped in the 2nd.

This the last chance for the fighter with the highest KO ratio in history..., to redeem himself but by the looks of the whole situation, Wilder better start plating his hands and installing high pressure hydraulics in his arms and legs.
