I think the same can be said for every boxing promoter worldwide.

We had a cracking card recently on Channel 5 with the headline fight hard to better anywhere regardless of purse.

Totally agree. Just get on with it. There are no guarantees at the moment. The virus may keep crowds away for a long long time. This fight needs to happen fast. It is one of the best match ups in world boxing, never mind British boxing. It will be sad for boxing if it doesn’t happen.

    Come every briton,
    John o groats to Dover,
    Its time to enjoy,
    Yet another tick over,

    You wont be too stressed,
    About the outcome,
As these guys will be fighting,
    A cherry picked bum,

    And if for boxings
    Future you fear,
    Be assured this will happen,
    Once again next year,

Most promoters aren't throwing mud at the others. Some are trying new things. Some are giving away content.

Eddie, sadly, painted a target on his own back

Why on earth do world champion fighters need tick over fights? Couldn't they just bring in some reasonably high calibre sparring partners instead? The career of a boxer isn't very long, and it quite frankly blows my mind how so many of them are willing to waste precious time with unworthy opponents.

It can honestly be painful being a boxing fan at times... the fans want to see the best fight each other in their primes, but there always seems to be something, usually money related, in the way.

The UFC literally embarrasses boxing when it comes to matchmaking.

These 2 world "champs" have faced 1 top 10 opponent between them in the last 2 years and Mundane Smith arguably lost that (to Gorilla Ryder).

They're both a bad joke tbh.

Nicky Piper would have probably slapped them both around .....

The state of UK boxing these days ,a huge amount of time seems to be NOT boxing or avoiding the fights like the plague....

We have Lomachenko v Lopez coming up in USA not on PPV while here we are getting bum fights

not sure about thst some cracking fights coming up in the next few months from the states ! Hearns biggest fight so far is Whyte v POVETKIN add that to the next three or four cards he’s doing it’s still the biggest fight he has done . Quite poor if you ask me considering the amount of fighters he has and fights that could be made

Do you reckon either of these two will one day have a Calzaghe moment and pull out a couple of World Class performances in big fights to have as their legacy or will they never get in the ring with a fighter decent enough to make it possible?

See the Upcoming US shows thread. Look at the fighters and level of opponents.
