Depends how old you are. A lot of young hipsters have been known to fetishize old stuff that most people consider played out or obsolete...

What's especially funny are the kids who would argue that you're a hipster or dinosaur for thinking anybody buy Mayweather or Pac could be "TBE" but they are just as dogmatic about their choices as we are ours, and will argue with the next incoming generation when they start to go gray. Then THAT bunch of stupid idiots will be the ones that just don't understand.

    That's just life I guess.

Given its relatively short history, super bantamweight has to be the most interesting division. Well, it definitely has the best brawlers.

Yeah, there is a disproportionately large amount of classic fights in that division on my favorite fights list.

I don't personally hold this view but people calling Harry Greb the greatest boxer of all time is both a legitimate position to take and also one of the most hipster opinions you can have.

Sal Sanchez had kind of a hippie/hepcat ‘fro. So our @salsanchezfan should fit right in.

I’m trying to think of the most hippie boxer but I’m drawing a blank.

Jose Luis Lopez seemed like a groovy surfer dude with his bleach-blond hair and overall demeanor, as I recall. Maybe Mike Tyson (in later years) and Tim Witherspoon for their love of the sacred herb.

My "hipster" opinion: Heavyweight is the ONLY division that matters.

Nah, not really. But for some reason that's the division that I'm drawn to study deeply. I appreciate the lighter guys and acknowledge that most of the time their fights are more action-packed, but I just love the heavys.

I guess my real hipster opinion is a totally snobbery (because what is hipster if not snobbery?) disregard of the boxing organizations. Especially at heavyweight. They're establishment crooks who have neither the intelligence nor moral fiber to run things logically and properly.

To take it a step further, I'm a linealist in the division I love.

Who's playing the Takamine in your avatar? At first from a distance I thought it was Rev. Gary Davis.

    Actually, that's me.
Nice spotting of the Takamine & the Rev. Gary Davis (whose name I know, but music I don't and probably should check out).

Very cool. I'm a Martin guy myself. My favorite is the 000-17SM. Love the 12-fret throwback look with the slotted headstock.

Ooo... that's nice. Just looked it up. Might be something else I'll have to add to my wish list. Been wanting a D-18 or D-28 for a while now.
