But also take into consideration, Lewis wasn't at his best for that fight with Klitchko because he hadn't prepared to face him. There were I believe another two he was supposed to face until Vit got the shot. Lewis hadn't trained for him, he'd have taken him a lot more seriously in a rematch imo. Hence my pick for Lennox to win.
With Lewis the X factor is how many punchers score their " Lottery punch " Ike, Moorer, and perhaps Mercer probably could pull a McCall or Rhaman. McCall and Rahman essentially finished Lewis off undamaged with one punch in short fights. I chose Ike to do this based on styles, and his durability.
Ike clearly outpointed Tua. The way he did it by standing toe to toe unlike Lewis"s safety first approach was eye opening. And the Byrd destruction was quite impressive. Also, Bowe was still developing under Futch when he fought Biggs and Tubbs in learning fights. You know, like Lewis being taken the diatance by way past his prime Ossie Ocassio around the same time as Bowe stuggled a bit with Biggs. By the time Bowe would have fought Lewis he was prime.
Lennox wins them all Lennox had Bowe's # & Papa Smurf knew it So did Newman Lennox toughest fight would have been Ibeabuchi could go either way Lennox would be in better shape for rematch Stops Vitali late
I always say this, Lewis beats bowe, he is so much better than him at boxing at range, bowe is so basic at range, decent but basic, no changing the speed of his punches, no feints whatsoever, no changing the level of his feet just jab and double jab that is it, Lewis would figure him out early and outbox him and possibly stop him late Lewis takes advantage of his superior feet against moorer and batters him from range and KO’s him in 4 Lewis beats Ibeabuchi on points by understanding that he should not trade and just sticks a jan on him all night, feints on his, jab jab straight right then get out of there and wins a landslide points decision Rematch with Klitschko, if Klitschko’s skin was already weak then it will be a hell of a lot even weaker in the rematch because of the scar tissue and Lewis will land a right on that eye at some point and open that cut again, and it may end up even worse of a cut than the first time Lewis beats Byrd by doing what he wants, forcing Byrd back behind the jab and setting up the straight right with his left and dominating and battering Byrd and ends up stopping him He KO’s John Ruiz in 4 rounds at most, the spoiling tactics won’t work against someone who is bigger, stronger on the inside and better than him at range, he will get outboxed from range and bullied on the inside by Lewis Lewis when he fought Mercer had either not been with Stewart a long time, or still not with him, if Lewis rematches him, he would switch it up and outbox him for 12 rounds and use his superior and faster feet and outbox him from range
Klitschko was training for Lewis for years and always wanted to fight him and was in preparation for a smaller fighter anyway, but Lewis was preparing for a smaller fighter Kirk Johnson and only had 2 weeks to prepare for a 6’8/6’7 opponent and was clearly out of shape
1 Bowe by stoppage in 93 Lennox was still green in 93 2 Lennox by stoppage in the 4 round Moorer was tailer made for his style 3 Lennox by clear decision against Ibeabuchi 4 Vitali by a tough decision in 04 5 Lennox by stoppage against Byrd 6 Lennox Lewis stops Ruiz in the mid rounds 7 Lennox Lewis wins a clear decision over Mercer.
Vitali eats his soul. Bowe is a 50/50 fight depending on Bowe being at his most focused, the Bowe of the first Holyfield match. Lennox destroys the rest in his fairly standard, jab jab jab... Right Hand fashion.
1.Beats Bowe in a very tough fight. 2. Beats Moorer by ko, Moorer didn't have the chin to survive with Lewis. 3.Beats Ike by dec ,the jab being the key. 4.Vitali was coming ,Lewis going, this might depend on how well Vitali's cuts had healed.Lewis would certainly have been in better shape for the rematch, but fighters get old overnight and he was 37. Prime for prime he beats Vitali pretty comfortably imo. 5.Byrd would be dominated by Lewis, no power and outsized, easy nondescript fight. 6.Ruiz was inferior to Lewis in every single department ,this would be a snore bore unless Lewis decided to go for the stoppage. 7.Lewis improves on his performance in their 1 st fight he would have his confidence back and jab his way to a win more emphatically than previously.
You can’t not take into consideration Klitschko’s skin, it it was already weak before the first fight, it certainly will be in the rematch and Lewis would be in way better shape, he would be sharper, faster feet and hand, better timing and he would land on the cut again and open it up again and it may be even worse if a cut than the first time
