Bear in mind he nearly got KO'd in most of those fights or just barely won. If anything he's only proven he's slightly better than those fighters, and another day it could have gone another way.
I will not consider to gave credit to anyone who had beated out of prime former superstars. Like I gave more credit to Huck for fight that he had lost by decision vs prime Povetkin than credit to Whyte even if he had beated 40-41 years old Povetkin in 2 fights in row. We don't compare Ali from 1974 th with Ali from 1980 th or Holmes from 1980 th with Holmes from 1988 th. There is no reason to gave credit for wictories vs out of prime Povetkin or Wlad. I easy can imagine how might look Whyte fight with prime Huck, 30 - 31 years old, not to talk about how he might look vs guys like prime Povetkin or Wlad. If about today, the same vs Fury or A.J.
No, just no. Browne was always trash. People forget the wars he had with many journeymen he faced. And all the times he got knocked down before he fought Whyte.
If he expects to be challenging for a world title (a proper one) who on that list should he not have beaten? hes been iced twice inside 8 rounds the 2 times he has stepped into the ring with world class opponents tells us everything we need to know about “maximum violence”

Wach > 40 yrs old If Whyte had fought Pulev instead of Hughie taking the fight, fought Ortiz instead of Allen taking the fight, fought Hunter instead of Povetkin taking the fight ... Maybe then his fans would have something to back up their claims. But as of now his opponent choice is HEAVILY orchestrated and the narrative of him fighting anyone is just a Hearn sales pitch.
Tbf, I always thought he was decent for what he was. He is a lower tier guy and somewhat crafty. But this is like putting Dave Allen on Luis Ortiz´s resume as a great win or something... Allen is OK and somewhat crafty as well, but there are levels to this. Browne happened to overachieve and there is this myth of him being actually good.
Heads up Comparison of resume: 1. Golota>Parker (due to manner of victory) 2. Izon>Rivas 3. Chisorax2>Savarese and Purrity 4. Helenius>Al Cole 5. Jeff Wooden>Lucas Browne It's comparable to Michael Grant heading into the Lewis fight except Grant didn't get smoked by a middle aged man.
The CV is very deceiving. I had him losing to Chisora the first fight and behind in the second. Lucas Browne was shot to bits and on zonked on antidepressants. The Parker fight is shrouded with the headbutt and Whyte close to being ktfo in the last round. Rivas was coming off a last round KO in a fight he was well behind in. Then their was the glove issue and the PED failure. Wach was 40 years old and 8 years past his peak. Helenious to be fair was a good learning fight at that stage. Credit to Whyte for studying busy but he’s been a very lucky boy
Every point you made was fair but at the end of the day Whyte fought them. Too many fans are giving fighters like Ortiz way too much credit when they haven't fought anyone. At this point I'm starting to think fighters avoid challenges just so fans won't rip their cv apart. As long as Ortiz fights nobody he'll always be a highly rated boogeyman.
That's the thing. Fans criticise fighters for not taking on the top guys, but when they do and inevitably have close fights or (shock!) lose they get ripped apart, while fighters who take on nothing but low hanging fruit and look good doing so are praised. I give way more credit to Whyte for his close tussles with the likes of Parker and Rivas than I give to some bumbeater who looks good blowing away nobodies.
