This thread and topic is a new low for the forum, IMO. However, it could have been even worse since the title of the topic could have led to a thread which pursued another direction. I'm happy that it took a such frivolous direction instead. Chuckle on!!
This was an intentionally frivolous thread that was supposed to be light subject matter and I'm glad that people didn't try and lead it down a darker path. I figured that the opening post would be enough of a clue to that and I was thankfully proven right. It was always intentional that this was supposed to be what it turned into and not the other thing. If it had gone that way, I'd have asked the mods to delete it. I'm a little surprised that you consider it to be a new low for the forum when it at least had some originality to it which immediately separates it from about 90% of the daily thread topics and I'd strongly disagree with you as well. A little humour goes a long way... and puns are funny - that's an actual scientific fact! Oh yeah... and do feel free to seek out and revive any one of the more thoughtful and serious past threads I've made that sunk without a trace under the weight of the lazily and hastily put together daily fantasy heavyweight threads!
I opened this tread with grape expectations but have been sold a lemon. Most posts have been of a pawpaw standard. Quince-y Jones is seriously underwhelmed.
Well, I for one couldn't give a fig - it sounds like sour grapes to me. But be my guest and have another bite of the cherry if you think you can do better. It might have gone pear shaped but in the end I think it bore fruit. And special mention to @red cobra - top banana!
