The fighters duck those not Bob. As good as Bud is he out here ducking Kell Brook and Loma didn't want to take a cut to give Salido a second fight to redeem his ass kicking but @escudo says he took one for Lopez. If Bob was younger he would be in line behind Larry Merchant to fight Floyd and Oscar.
Ahh **** you quoted me now I hate to find a link. Edit: https://boxing-social.com/news/lomachenko-has-already-taken-a-pay-cut-for-lopez/
The gameplan on Loma is body punching but Salido proved while 140lbs in a fight at 126. Jr. Welter Salido also threw more than a few low blows. In his 3rd pro fight Loma fought this seasoned pro to a controversial split decision. This is as close to reality as I can get. Loma is awesome to watch, why hate?
Salido was 148 pounds on fight night against Lomachenko, which is why I was/am so pissed that Lomachenko refused to fight Pac. Pedraza, Campbell, Linares, and Crolla were all over 150. Davis was 146.6 in his last fight. Pac is 147-150 on fight night.
The Commey KO was caused by Commey not having much skill period, paired, with Lopez's skill and power.
You can't not give Lomachenko credit if he wins. While Lopez is a youngster, and he definitely could use more seasoning at the top level, he looks the part. He's fast, confident, powerful, and didn't fold, when he faced someone who gave him some trouble. If I had to line up all of Lomachenko's opponents and put Lopez in the other corner. I would pick him over all of them. He also just blasted Commey out in two rounds. Commey has been a top 10 guy for a few years now, and held his own with the other ranked lightweights he's fought. Nobody has done that to Commey. Even if Lopez loses, and then goes on to lose against Haney, or whoever else... at this juncture, it would a top quality win. His best win since Gary Russell Jr.
Loma was old and the lay off hurt him. Loma was in the wrong division. Just saying, excuses go both ways. If Lopez catches Loma, he will go down. Young dude is strong, hungry and fast. I won't be surprised if he stops Loma, but an in shape, ready, sharp Loma is damn near impossible to beat.
Lopez has a huge ego. Loma shouldn't get caught up in the childish cliche trash talking, that's beneath him. Though I do understand they have to bring eyes to the fight, it's a thing of beauty when Loma goes into beast mode in the ring though, I do hope he taps Lopez' arse..
