The problem is also that there are different pro boxing orgs, each with ranking system + ring ranking & boxrec ranking.
Each org defends his rights a lot. & there is eddie and managers.
Might be beautiful if top boxers, like top 8 or even top 16 had fights like in torunament fromat like WBSS.
Now with covid ticket sales are ........... In U.K I think Usyk vs A.J might be sold well, beautiful attendance numbers, great tickets sales. if before covid .

Not convinced he can bud knowing usyks style. Ruiz was 6 foot 1 but he was also about 20 lbs heavier than joshua. Fury was a relative novice cutting corners against cunningham. Povetkins an olympic champion fighting a guy who,s still pretty raw.

Obviously everyones got a chance and usyks a top top fighter...but weight classes are there for a reason. Usyks tremendous attributes arent actually all that helpful compared to say he was a big puncher or that. He,ll have too much for chisora and he,ll be competetive enough against joshua....but cant see him anywhere near getting the win. A lot of his styles built on drowning the opponents stamina...to do that he has to get close enough to pose a threat. The problem will be he cant get close enough posing a threat without getting hit against the really big guys. His skill levels so high he,ll remain competetive enough...but i m surprised people fancy usyk. He was pretty much even with bellew before the stoppage. That was partly down to usyks gameplan. Even then tho...it doesnt look good against joshua or fury.

I know the belts don't really matter and they rarely stay unified for long, but I was looking forward to a fight between 2 Brit Hwswith everything on the line. Looks like it won't happen, but if the price is the WBO belt then so be it, not a massive issue, the fight will still be one with a lot going for it and few would argue the winner hadn't proved themselves 'the man'.

On the plus side Usyk or Parker v Fury or AJ would be another great fight to look forward to with the added cachet of unifying the last belt.
