Because no one replies to me with excuses, the only people who have been replying to me with excuses just happen to be Tyson fans. Just a coincidence, not really something deep lol.

    No such thing as coincidence.

Are the excuses legit? If not, what are the excuses bothering you?

Excuses bother me because in every Tyson debate all the replies I get are excuses, and apparently the same thing happens with a lot of other members, if somebody kept replying with a bunch of excuses on a Holyfield debate I would also get fed up with them

Hey dude. What are some excuses fans use for Iron Mike that bother you?

I can tell you the one thing that bothers me the most, more so than any other on all the boxing forums - the Frank Lotierzo article claiming Tyson was afraid of Foreman in 1990/1991. I've researched it to death and the claim has no merit whatsoever.

Now if someone thinks Tyson loses to a 42 year old Foreman, then fine. Give me reasons why. But don't use that article as proof or evidence why a Tyson-Foreman fight never happened.

I don’t know if either of those guys could go fifteen rounds and certainly not while slugging it out with each other

It doesn't go the distance, win factors for each fighter:

Tyson: Getting off first and putting Foreman on the backfoot. You back up a puncher, you take their punch away

Foreman: Being quick enough to land the uppercut inside - this is the key factor to the fight. Foreman has a great uppercut, but it's whether he's quick enough to land it against a very quick Tyson. And if he can land it in exchanges. If Tyson lands first, then Foreman's punches are ineffective

    Lean Tyson

It was very difficult to land on a Tyson firing on all cylinders, you can count one one hand how often he was seriously hit, Boncrusher and Tucker and while already going off the rails, Bruno, thats it.

One the other hand , Foreman was never difficult to land on, he had no head movement, low guard and his offense was his defense, I am not saying he had no defense but it was never his strong point while it was one of Tysons strong points. Evidence is also the Ali fight where Ali pretty much hit him at will with every punch in the book, same with old Foreman, everybody including ham and eggers lit him.......Foremans main defense weapon is his chin.

His chin can be cracked with single shots as Ali and Lyle showed, the question is it good enough to survive a combo from Tyson....and we all know Tyson is one of the best finishers ever if he gets Foreman into trouble.

Speed kills and Tyson has it in spades, there is a reason Ali called Foreman the Mummy..... he will slip and counter.....and Tyson has ZERO resemblance to Frazier except Height.......Foreman will come to trade and that is IMO suicide against Tyson...........Buster did not trade, the moment he got brave he was almost ko'ed.......Holyfield never traded with a washed Tyson........Lewis never traded with the corpse of Tyson.........Foreman would and pay the price.

I do think that. But to me that's not an excuse, it's a reality. If doubters take the time to watch him in the 80s against quality opposition and then again after prison...he really wasn't as vicious, he didn't come in quite so doggedly (or with that amazing adroitness he had in the 80s). He wasn't the seemingly inexorable bomber he was in the 80s...in fact, I daresay it possible that Mike might have been on his way to being the next Joe Louis if he done a rematch with Buster immediately and not gone to prison.

That said, I wonder too if perhaps if was the 90s that felled Mike. To me prime Mike would have had Ruddock out of there both times before round 4.

I personally believe prime for prime Tyson would have never gotten knocked down by guys like Holy or Lewis, and though I doubt he could have taken Holy I definitely see him having a great chance against any version of Lewis.

Is Mike Tyson not allowed to struggle?

This is exactly the kind of post that only Mike Tyson gets discredited for. "Because Tyson went 12 rounds with Smith and Tucker means he isn't as good as his fanboys claim he is!"

Really? I can name "greater" fighters who struggled far more and against lesser fighters. The above is a good example of Tyson able to go 12 rounds and win every second of every round to do so, and yet his detractors mark that against him.

Perfect true. The Tyson haters prefer the double standards.
