Thoughts on Mandatory Challengers?

Bob Arum came out in frustration over Taylor's opponent over the weekend and says that he wants to ban mandatory challengers

There was a similar backlash after Barrera destroyed fana and ring put out an article saying they create horrible mismatches

Then there's the bernard Hopkins and Larry Merchant argument after the hakkar fight over it

Obviously in some cases mandatory Challengers are guys who would most certainly be avoided for as long as possible and in some cases result in guys getting deserved shots

I guess I'm not sure if the problem is mandatories or just shitty rankings by organizations

What's your take?

 

Ranked properly and mandatory defences are a must, anything else would lead to even worse corruption. It’s the governing bodies, they are bent as **** all of them that’s what’s caused issues

 

Step aside money should not be allowed either

 

If people work their way up the ranks, they deserve a shot. Simple as.
