Wilder and this is not even close. Wilder is arguably one of the hardest punchers in history, not a category Vitali is even a top 10. Vitali has many qualities of an ATG, but one punch knock out artist isn't one of those. Vitali by KO
I'd have to say Wilder, and that's as a big Vitali fan. Vitali was really more of a boxer than a slugger. He threw hard, but controlled punches, because he was concerned with defence and balance. Wilder wings them in from the front seats, of course he's hitting harder.
I don't know who hits harder, but I would rather fight Wilder than Vitaly. Wilder would just KO you with 1 shot and Vitaly would break all bones in your body.
Pure KO Power: 1) Wilder right hand 2) Wlad right hand 3) Wlad left hand 4) Vitali right hand 5) Vitali left hand 6) Wilder left hand Maybe the right of Vitali is harder as the left of Wlad, but i would not bet on it.
Sure. But i ment pure KO power nothing else. Yes he did. He put his full weight in his right hand vs Lewis in the 1st round a couple of times, and in the 2nd too when he stunned him for a couple of seconds. And he put his full weight against Hoffmann in the later rounds, especially 9-12. He tried anything to bring the german oak down but he couldnt. I would also say he put his full weight behind his shots in the Kirk Johnson fight back in 2003.
Wilder has that shocking speed KO power with the straight right hand. Vitali while not matching the single shot power imo had a more general heavy-handedness with his clubbing short punches.
Vitali or Wilder putting a full weight punch on my jaw............i am of the belief that i would not be in a position to judge either way as i would be unconcious and perhaps worse, whichever they both would spoil your day big time and have you taking your food through a straw or IV. Vitali did not have to depend on one punch kos wheras Wilder tended to, on record evidence one would of course favour Wilders bomb, however Vitali with his style still hit plenty hard enough.
But the comparsion who is who did hit harder, not who might do so if they both used the same form. Still since Wilder was used to the windmills & hit extremely hard it is likely to be him. But as far as what both did for their whole career, & the effects of their punches, it is Wilder by at least a fairly large margin. Now who is better & more effective especially considering the level of competition? Easily Vitali.
Who has Wilder knocked out with his left hook? I’m sure it has happened but I’m just not remembering any right now, other than that sketchy looking left hook he supposedly knocked out Malik Scott with (the right hand that followed didn’t appear to land).
when Wilder Ko's a fighter with a pulse there will be something to judge until then he is just the modern Primo Carnera.
Raw power vs non top 10 opposition and journeyman? Wilders resume is paper thin. Maybe we should see early Klitschko fights and compare? Vitali didn’t fight wilder low level opponents for long.
