I stand by my thoughts. Ortiz’s wins resume had more depth. Olivares’ was more top heavy.

Any 5 losses combined on Ortiz‘s resume are not as destructive to his rep as Olivares’ 2 losses to Herrera. Or the fact that over 70% of his double digit number of losses came by knockout.

    Ortiz makes him crack.

Can’t agree with that and in terms of my rankings at bantam, I’m only counting those wins that happened between the super fly and bantam limits

Ortiz undeniably great, a top 100 all-time fighter all the same.

Also despite struggling with the weight at that point, I can’t possibly take points off Olivares for Rose being ‘past prime’. Sure, he was a champ who had close fights in all his defences and was struggling with the weight, but he also exclusively fought brilliant opposition in title fights.

I also have no reaso. To believe Ortiz ever best someone as good as Chucho Castillo at bantamweight.

H2H at bantam, Ortiz probably should be favoured to beat Olivares though.

That's one of my favourite write ups, period.

    I loved it.

Wow, high praise indeed! Thank you so much. I’m not much of a writer, it’s all about the research for me. Prose isn’t my strong suit I just try and make it easy to follow.

Anyone else wanna try and rank his best wins? I'll give it a try, but I'll need some time.

Durable as f***, can push a strong 15-round pace, body work will slow Olivares down. If Olivares wins it'll be via Castillo-1-esque boxing IMO

Well that's fair enough, but I always assumed that in situations like that, Olivares would revert to his boxer-puncher style, rather than that Charley Scott-esque style which he loved so much. But I do definitely think in a war, Ortiz's chin would be the decider. But I tend to think Olivares would know going in that he should stick and move, come over left hooks with his cross and try to counter.
