You cant rate fighters/fights in a linear plane...dont work like that at all... having said that , I think if Andrade were to fight BJS we might get some realistic idea of his (Andrade )ability's....my view BJS beats both!
GGG is old. DA would give him a tough fight right now. It’s hard to favor GGG this late in his career.
There's a good argument for Golovkin, but I got to say (sadly) that I think he's badly past prime and will now lose, possibly very clearly, to most of the top MWs which probably includes Andrade. I hope I'm wrong and he can stay at an elite level in the next year or two for a few more good fights.
For me, I don't have as much confidence in GGG not so much because of age but because of his change of trainers. If he was trained by Sanchez I give the edge to GGG because he was dialed in to his fighting style. For me he needs to show equal or improved fighting effectiveness for me to gain back my confidence. I'm not sure but I think GGG might have performed better vs Derevyanchenko under Sanchez although rumors were floating around that GGG was sick. GGG didn't look bad vs Derevyanchenko, He did alot of good stuff, landing the cleaner heavier shots. For me, until he shows otherwise, I think of GGG being at 80% of his regular self and not necessarily from age. If he can start feeling more comfortable in his new style he has the capabilities to defeat them all.
Underrated fact: Andrade has never faced one opponents who’s been a titleholder at any point in their career.. At 154 no Trout, Lara, Charlo, Molina etc.. at 160 we already know..
I will admit I do like GGG. The Dev fight came up on YouTube the other day so I rewatched it, first time since I watched it live. GGG was clearly not himself - he hardly threw any jabs, seemed lazy and was the first time I actually ever saw him hurt. I don't doubt he was sick, which he has been before when trying to make weight. What caught my eye was him struggling to cough up spit and out came a dribble of sticky blood around 8,9,10 in the corner. He looked like a horror scene. I think Banks is a mistake for golovkin and thought so since I saw him do padwork for the Rolls fight, confirmed by the rolls fight itself, and lack of corner advice / enthusiasm during Dev. I personally don't rate Andrade. Put him in with 2013-2017 GGG and he loses. 2020 GGG? Ill have to wait and see which golovkin turns up for his next fight.
I like this post the best I want to believe that GGG still has one great performance left and he'll show it when he knocks Canelo out
Banks also doesn't impress me as a trainer. He's got all the energy and dynamism of a month-old soggy lettuce at the back of the fridge.
Golovkin was sick the week of the D fight (says Loeffler). If that's true, a weaker Golovkin still dropped and beat a top MW. Let's see another fight where he's definitely healthy before writing him off against these contenders. Golovkin never relied on speed or defence, so his style probably ages okay. BJS will be screwed by mid 30s unless he becomes a big hitter.
I’d watch this fight but it’s hard to tell how much GGG has in the tank. Prime GGG rag-dolls Andrade but he’s older and slower and might have problems catching up to the younger man. I’d still pick GGG but would have more confidence if Insaw him fight recently. Disappointed the Andrade BJS FIGHT NEVER took place. Sorry about the accidental caps. That was a good fight on paper. Two slick fighters.
Andrade is 32, so it's not like he is that young, either. His career has been massively disappointing to me. He has not pushed himself at all. I think he could beat the current GGG, but who knows. I'm past caring much.
Even the current version of GGG stop Andrade who hasn't beaten anybody. Andrade is skilled but he also looks sloppy, he may be able to avoid getting hit by the caliber of opponents he has been facing currently but GGG will find his chin and he will dig hard to the body and something tells me that Andrade won't be able to take it.
