Robberies did occur. Morales and Hamed ducked Marquez. Morales was got outboxed and got a gift against Espadas. Any good reason why Morales didn't fight Marquez at 126?

Pac got schooled after the first round and got gift decisions in the next 2 fights.

Absolutely not. Nor was Norwood, it was a close fight as you say yourself. I had John-JMM adraw and i could see it either way in a very close fight but to deep this a "****" is outrageous.

Because he didn't even win the title until Morales was at 130?

Norwood has an argument for winning, I don't think John does. That was a hometown decision.

Not that I necessarily go with concensus but most people had Marquez beating John.

LW: Whitaker. Not sure i wouldn't pick him over Duran anyway. Talk about a nullifier. None better, ever.

FW: This one's hard. It would take a blend of great boxer and solid puncher but Saddler's own style is so unique and unpredictable enough to cancel out most pure boxers and pure sluggers. It would take a blend of styles to upset Saddler. Because of this I pick Pedroza. Maybe Marcel.

BW: Manuel Ortiz. Watching some of his stuff lately and very impressed with his aggressive yet technically very sound attack. He can clearly box AND slug, and very seasoned. On his best nights he can absolutely take Olivares.

Or because the correct answer: Arum cherrypicked for Morales and made sure Morales was protected from the best fights back then. From what I remember they're under the same promoter and it's an easy fight to make. Morales did **** all at 126 except rematch Barrera. Arum also bought the gift decision in Barrera 1

Casamayor and Corrales were absolutely begging for a fight with Morales at 130 but Arum shielded it.

A robbery is a clear, wide decision in favour of the loser. I scored the fight a draw. Most people who actually produce cards for the fight produce a close one. Marquez had two points deducted from him during the fight which means that to see this a robbery you are giving Marquez 9 rounds.

There are a few cards like that on the internet for Marquez, but most cards fall at or between 114-112 and 112-114. Absolutely not a robbery. And i'm sure you scored it 9 rounds to 3 yourself, i don't doubt you did that, but you can't appeal to "the majority" and then build the case for a hometown decision, not at all.

Of all the fights dressed up as robberies, this is the most inexplicably bad.

Saddler style against a modern fighter depends entirely on how the collar tie is reffed. If Saddler can hang on he KO's Loma late, if not Loma UD.

Yep, sure he did. That's 100% more likely than the fact that Morales was fighting at 130 when Marquez won the 126 title.
I'm sure it would've done if there were a time where it made sense.
    Your point?
And then he obviously paid for the robbery in the rematch then.
I'm sure they were much more lucrative than fighting Pacquiao and Barrera.

You'd bet you're entire life's worth on Mayweather beating Robinson, Martinez beating Monzon and Fenech beating Olivares?
