Yep, that’s him. He was also pretty handy. This is a massive stepup for Benn. Above British level for sure. I don’t think he’s good enough to win. If he survives he could get a robbery on the cards I guess. Or maybe he has somehow become twice the fighter he previously was
Formella really? Not a big fan of Formella myself but he's a few levels ahead of Benn, just like Hammer being a few levels ahead of Allen. I feel like something dodgy's going on here. Wouldn't be suprised if these 2 are being paid to come over a take a dive.
Lets not overlook the fact that he has sidestepped a shot at the British title against Jenkins. The fight had been ordered by the BBBoC. Blatant duck.
Even though Formella got his head boxed off for 12 rounds against porter he is still levels above Benn formella via mid rounds stoppage
What are you waffling on about. They offered the fight to Jenkins. Jenkins accepted warren blocked it. Pursebids are still due but the fight wouldn’t have been scheduled until next year. Benn has been out the ring a year and wants to fight now. He gets to fight a guy with a bigger worldwide profile the Jenkins and do it in a matter of weeks. Win this and he’s top ten WBA and to be fair fighting a guy in a much harder fight that’s Jenkins
Big step up, a little surprising. Fair play to Benn, too soon IMO as Formella win vs Mbenge who was only the 2nd fighter to stop Miguel Vasquez is a very nice win
This is one of Frank's proposed Queensbury v Matchroom fights. Why won't Benn fight anyone at British level? The division is stacked. Nobody wants to see Benn fight Formella for a third tier Euro belt but there are plenty who want to see him in a British title fight.
Surprising fight to make. Formella is no world beater ,just an average European level fighter, but he's better than Jenkins and should be the slight favourite here.
I never quote myself and I never normally give the old "I told ya" but I will today... told ya Monday, foreign opponent for a WBA whatever title.
