Lopez I think without Lomachencko would be a top belt holder for a while. He's skilled, hits very hard, and is in his prime.

Lomo is slowing down a bit due to age, but I think his footwork, and unique angles and quickness will win on points. I also think Lomo will be the mentally better focused fighter.

    Should be a good one.

I hope loma ends teofimo after seeing teofimo with the communist fist on his shirt. End him or atleast beat some serious sense into him.

I mean, I'd be worried that he was going life & death in sparring with a featherweight (later a lightweight, but still) - were it anybody besides arguably the p4p king.

I think if memory serves he looks... decent? from the snatches I've seen...which admittedly hasn't been much since he turned pro. I think maybe Rafał Jackiewicz and one more fight is all I've seen of him since he fought Marlo Delgado in WSB nearly half a decade ago tbh.

Speaking of WSB, my dream match for him in the pros would be a rematch with Derevyanchnko. :deal:

I was originally going with Loma by UD. I'm now leaning towards a mid-late round Nomaschenko. Teo is starting to show chinks in his psyche. All that blathering about his father, I'm now suspicious of his will to win when he gets drawn into deep waters.

The skill gap is huge. The amount of times fans fall for a new up and comer with ‘charisma’ and ‘power’ as the next big thing is unreal. Teofimo is been treated by some as a legitimate elite fighter. I’m convinced i seen on Twitter, hoping a dream, that only Crawford and Lopez could beat Loma right now and that was Tony Bellew

You can’t make this stuff up. The gap in class is huge

Lopez looks to be a counter-puncher. Loma eats counter-punchers for breakfast. Just look at his fights against Rigo and Walters.

I wouldn't call Teó quite a pure counter-puncher in the Juan Manuel Márquez mold. López comes forward quite a bit, creating his own spots and often baiting for counters in the pocket after aggressively posting up.

...all of which just makes him even more stylistically grist to Lomachenko's mill than if he actually was a pure counterer.

Lomachenko's not gonna fall for Lopez's bait; he's gonna set his own bait with feints, which Lopez will fall for all night.
Lopez's only chance is a puncher's chance. He's not gonna outbox Lomachenko, he's just not. He couldn't outbox Nakadani, FFS.

Some fighters play chess; Lomachenko plays Go.

(Go is an ancient board game that's WAY more complex than chess. Lomachenko is really, really skilled, is what I'm saying).

I think that the first few rounds will be interesting and Lopez will be dangerous but when it gets past the 4th I think Loma will get into his rhythm and start completely out boxing and countering Lopez. At the midway point Loma will go to the body more and applying his intense educated pressure in 30 the 45 second spurts. Lopez wont quit on his stool because he won't want to be another "No Mas" victim but I think he will crumble under Loma's pressure and take a knee from the sustained pressure then likely get stopped on the ropes or in the corner while trying to cover up but not firing back.
