The fights would probably be a point or two either way.

It wouldn't be easy like the Mosley fights.

Beats both decisively, neither can get past that jab, let alone break through the guard.

Sounds like Winky getting screwed twice to me.

I think Canelo could potentially beat winky over 12 rounds. I don't think winkys jab and high guard would be enough

By needing a robbery in a toe to toe slugfest, and getting bull**** pushdowns over a green Wright. Yeah, they did alright.

He'd outbox DLH the way Quartey did but more emphatically. Alvarez I'm not sure

I think it'd be like the Lara fight but Winky not 'running' quite so much. Winky UD.

the sturm fight made me realize winky was all wrong for de la hoya. on top of that, winky is a southpaw. given, de la hoya was somewhat past it in the sturm fight, but i can't see him not struggling against that style.

Winky’s weakness was having guys flurry and steal rounds while he sat behind a high guard. Oscar could do that better than Vargas could.

That's a great point. Oscar was especially good at doing that at the end of rounds. he was great offensively and always found a way to get his shots in. I personally don't feel like vargas deserved the wright decision but you're right, oscar was a step above vargas in many areas - he could very well have beaten winky, it's a shame we never got to see the fight. were there ever negotiations for these two to meet?

Was this the fight that “Winky Wright School of Business” was coined from? I know he turned down a huge fight or two.
