Would Donovan Razor Ruddock have a chance against Deontay Wilder

Probably would if he landed 1st. With Patterson's speed and Wilder telegraphing almost every punch he uses he could.

Given that Wilder would be the underdog here, YES !

 

Deontay had too powerful a punch, even moreso than Mike and Lennox. Ruddock wasn't exactly hard to hit.

Wilder in 7 rounds, tops.

 

Both Tyson and Lewis were far more versatile in their offense than Wilder is and neither Tyson nor Lewis totally took Ruddock out with a single shot.

Neither was Johann Duhaupas, but he made it to the 11th Round and is nothing close to as dangerous as Ruddock.

Even Molina made it to the 9th, after picking himself up off the canvas a few times, in earlier rounds, and he's even less dangerous, offensively.

 

Wilder should beat him, Ruddock was nothing special.

That said, it's not impossible for Ruddock to stop Wilder. He wouldn't be intimidated, that's for sure.

Not only does he have a chance - but I'd even say he'd been the favourite to win & win by KO inside 5.

 

Tbh, it depends on the Ruddock who shows up. The one who went to war with a near-peak Tyson (who may not have been the force he was 3 years earlier but was not far from it) and soaked up everything he had while giving as good as he got at times would KO Wilder mid-rounds though not before catching some leather himself.

 

The 2 fights against Tyson ruined him. People will bring up the Lewis and Morrison losses. But he was a bit unfortunate to come against Tyson in the early 1990s. He liked to brawl, and he took too much punishment in those 2 fights. The prime version that destroyed Smith was a very dangerous fighter.

Wilder won't have won a minute of any round when out of the blue he irons Razor out with a fight ending show stopper

 

The 1990-91 Version of Ruddock would probably score a knockout inside of 10 rounds. Any other version of Ruddock would have problems.
