The Austin fight...he quit legitimately. A doctor verified his injured shoulder (nasty pics of that). Al Certo took back what he said following the Tyson fight, admitting he scorned Andy unrightfully and noted that a fighter's health always takes priority over continuing a boxing match. I could give positive quotes about Golota too, but I won't do that because I'm not here to argue. If you feel the way you do about Golota, you have a right to your opinion. I feel the way I do for the same reason.
Golota is always mentioned as delivering in the entertainment department. If we're talking worth every dime then Golota surely guranteed that always.
Yes! His wife Mariola Golota is a lawyer while daughter Aleksandra went in mom's footsteps and became an attorney as well. Andy and Mariola are both celebrities in Poland.
Golota was a pioneer of Polish Boxing. I'm not fully convinced mental health is what held back Golota always.
He was a show pony, nothing more. A gym Adonis who lost it in the ring when the going got too tough. Low blows, biting, walking out of the ring. Million dollar body/ten cent brain.
Thats certainly the way it looked on the night and a very valid viewpoint .In the heat of the moment I was disgusted by the Tyson fight corner retirement but i think italian stallion if only golota had carried the mentality he had in 2004 throughout his career.....knowing what we now know about tyson that 2000 fight was a very winnable one for golota...a couple more rounds and tyson would have been gassing. Golota had stoically got up from the huge right his butt didnt even touch down.He was boxing ok in the 1st than got a little cut by a headbutt an seemed to freak out inside when he got cut he actually wanted the fight fo be stopped at the end of the 1st
Lol its a humorous term i use knowing full well i was 24 when the fight took place and now 20 years later golota is a "kid" to me im the old man
In this case imo , it's a misleading term that implies he was a youngster so lets cut him some slack for his unacceptable behaviour. I'm 72 on the 21st of next month a Birthdate I share with David Tua.,you're all kids to me.
I made this thread about Christy Martin and in response to me making it about a female boxer and her undeniable courage and the negative remarks I got, I pointed out there were two threads on Golota.I couldnt care less about Golota and those who do would be better employed posting on threads about him imo.
