Let's say Lomachenko beats Lopez, then beats Haney to win all the belts at lightweight. Where would you rank him all time?

    • Tied for fewest number of fights to win a world title
    • Holds the record for fewest number of fights to win a world title in 2 and 3 weight classes
    • Wins all the belts at LW
    • All in less than 20 fights

Would he rank in the top 20 all time?

    Lopez
    Haney

Lomachenko may very well be ranked as an ATG, but he wouldn't be in the Top 50, nevermind Top 20. His resume is pretty weak. You can say Rigondeaux was elite, but that's about it. Lomachenko had the opportunity to put a certified high-ranking ATG and living legend on his resume, but he declined that fight. Undisputed doesn't really mean much when the opposition is garbage (see Crawford's resume).

This is a more reasonable question.

He wouldn't make my top 150.

He'd be pretty damn close to it though. Add in a few of the names at 130, and a big name guy at 140 and he'd probably make 100.

Ha, Haney has no part to play in this.

Loma will be undisputed tonight if he wins. WBC has made it clear that Loma is their champ.

Haney will never see a Loma fight, should have signed with TR. He's stuck with Hearn/DAZN and isn't crossing over to ESPN now or ever.

I mean being the best FW and later the best LW in the world is something that an incredibly small number of people have done.

    We have the following:

    Frank Erne
    Tony Canzoneri
    Henry Armstrong
    Alexis Arguello
    Juan Manuel Marquez
    Mikey Garcia
    Arguably Pacquiao as well

So there's ATG fighters in there but there's also guys who are a million miles away.

I'd say right now he's much more Mikey Garcia than Henry Armstrong.

I mean assuming he beats Lopez, if I had to rank the guys listed above

    Armstrong
    Pacquiao
    Arguello
    Canzoneri
    Marquez
    Erne
    Garcia

I'd say Loma is definitely bottom end of that list.

Loma would have sent Armstrong straight to the coffin

Once Loma beats the WW champ and defends his belt 20 times I'll consider the comparison.

Rematch Salido in a historic 15 round, thanks to Carlos Molina for re-introducing the 15 round fight, the full distance will ensure a knockout closure. If he beats Haney and Teo, wins the rematch vs Salido. Just at that he can be top 20 ATG (in the ATG lists of his moderate fans). If the rematch vs Salido can't be made, more work at 130 (undisputed or long title reign)

Loma's just too small for WW.

Arguello didn't. McGovern did, though. I'm fairly certain McFarland did too.
