I'm ready to eat my crow. Totally thought Lomachenko was gonna dominate the young green and brash Lopez.

But god damn, that was a great fight! I scored it 116-112, 8 rounds to 4.

    Gave Lopez rounds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 12
    and Lomachenko 8, 9, 10, and 11

You just gotta give Lopez credit where credit is due, he dominated and defeated the best fighter on the planet today. Even in the rounds Lomachenko won he was getting hit hard and often. I just don't see how he wins the rematch. He went after Lopez when his energy was zapped. By round 12 Lopez adjusted to an aggressive Lomachenko and pounded him. This wasn't a size difference that beat Lomachenko, Lopez was just the better man last night, great game plan. Lopez dominated with the jab, educated pressure, very patient, and great with counters. Made me a fan, I hope he has a great career!

Nothing wrong with Loma losing. I think he can still dominate the rest of 135 or 130 if he goes down in weight.

Props for being a man and admitting you got a pick wrong. I picked loma by ud to and would have bet a small fortune that there was no way in hell Lopez would beat loma by UD.

I picked Loma by early KO, and even said I wouldn't be surprised with Lopez being KO'd in the first round. I said it in the RBR.

Boy, am I glad I was wrong. Teo Lopez!!!!

I'm afraid you and I are sharing the same platter of crow. I thought Lopez would need to get Loma out of there before the 6th. I figured Loma would dominate the 2nd half of the fight, which he tried to do, but it was too little to late. Lopez may be the next special, dominate fighter for the next decade. Huge potential and upside.

My opinion was humbled as well.

Size did make a difference but it wasn’t all. Lopez clearly was drilled and prepared properly for Loma. Loma could not do his usually step to the right because Teo would either swivel with him, keep his left foot outside, push Loma off, or simply deter him with the left hook.

Looks like Teo studied Loma on tape throughly and came prepared AND patient.

At the end of the day it's still a fight. It's still about punching the other guy hard enough to get respect and hurt him badly. You can have all the fancy footwork, but if you won't bite down on your gumshield and take the other guys shot then you won't be able to throw your own punches with much effect.

Thanks for the OP for not trying to make the outcome controversial such as invent new ways to score fights or claim a conspiracy. It's okay that he lost and it's okay to admit you were wrong.

Happened to me in Wilder/Fury II. I wasn't surprised by Fury winning but was shocked to see him come forward that way and boss like he did. It happens.

It's deeper than that. Watch the fight closely. TF exposed Loma. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Loma doesn't use the jab to set up his offense. He uses the feint. Lopez wasn't biting on the feint, instead he waited for Loma to throw and either tried to counter or punch with him. This kept Loma's output very low. It wasn't until the 8th when Loma started throwing without feints and was much more successful. That's my take anyway.

I thought Loma would win by UD, but I wasn't too confident in that. I never made a fight prediction. I chickened out. I had a hunch that Lopez could pull off the win, but still wouldn't have predicted it. But I was less confident with a Loma victory than any of his previous fights. I even made a thread talking about how much stronger, bigger and powerful Teo was than Loma. And I'm typing on my computer going guys you realize this right? It's not a mystery that Lopez is way more physical than Loma is. But all I got was Loma has too much skillz.

I knew Loma was getting older. I knew that Lopez punches so much harder than Loma. The power differential is ridiculous. And I knew that Lopez wasn't going to go in there afraid and already mentally defeated. He was going to have to be beaten and Loma wasn't going to be able to just show up and dance all night long. Loma fought scared. Because the other guy was just so much stronger and more powerful.

The fight did not play out the way I thought either. Did not imagine Lopez winning by decision. I pick Loma by UD. Very good suprise.

I'll dine on some crow as well today.

Called Lomachenko by UD, simply because I expected Teofimo to wait for the perfect shot and get outworked in the majority of the rounds. Didn't have any idea that the roles would be reversed, and that Loma would be the one to be outworked and outpointed for much of the fight.

Did Lopez have something in his gloves? Did the commission check it before the match?

You dont have to eat any crow. Teófimo performed way better than anyone here or elsewhere would have expected.

Those things happen, sometimes someone steps up, shines, and surprises everybody. Yesterday he was teófimo.

    victory, that's what he had.

Commission should check lomachenko's trunks too, taking into account that he was afraid to start up before FREAKING EIGTH round, they should check if the ammount of poo in his trunks is not illegal.

Trying to discredit a fighter the way you are doing is disgusting, btw.
