I didn’t see anything that warrants a rematch. It wasn’t close. 119-109 isn’t as outrageous as it’s being made out to be. 118-111 seems perfectly reasonable. Lopez dominated. Even when Loma had his moments, Teo didn’t seem bothered. And did anyone notice Loma was in the verge of being out down towards the end? Nah, no rematch. As far as what Loma should do next? Not sure, but it’s going to be rough for him. He doesn’t seem to be taking this well.
No. Loma should go back to 130. His work in 135 is done. Not easy to bring back his previous glory. But I know he can.
Will be very inspiring to see Loma or any Elite boxer move-down, but realistically the withdrawal from changing PEDs will have a psychological damage, also he will look drained of the combined aging and weight loss. Not good for promoters and fans, this era the average joe, is on the heavier side, ranging from a 5 meal day happy-citizen to a well manicured gym membership and self-proclaimed IG model-YouTube coach. The drained look, wrinkled rugged faces of 29 yo depression era boxers is no longer the desired look, this is on the promotional side, add to that the psychological damage of "feeling" less "strong" once a boxer starts micro-dosing and eventually cold Turkey with no happy hormones
It's far from impossible that he could turn the tables and win the rematch. It was a competitive fight and he seemed to figure some things out from the 8th round on wards that finally allowed him to mount some kind of offence. It won't be easy though. Lopez fought a smart disciplined fight. Loma likes to make his opponents react in the early rounds so he can figure out their responses. But Lopez gave him very little, just flicked the jab out, not with the intent to land but to keep Loma busy and thinking while being patient and not giving away any of his movement patterns and then just doing enough to steal rounds. Loma spent far too much time waiting for Lopez to do something more all the while losing rounds. He found himself in a hole on the scorecards and was forced to take risks, which changed things as it forced Lopez onto the back foot and finally made Lopez have to react, but it came at a cost for Loma as it also allowed Lopez to land more and we saw in the last round how dangerous that could be. So yes Loma can win but he's not going to have it all his own way for once, he'll either need to figure something out by rewatching the fight or he better get ready for a war, because he's not going to win this rematch easily or without taking risks.

I don’t think so. Lopez is simply too big and too good for Lomachenko. I think Lopez would be more aggressive in a rematch and probably take Lomachenko out.
Easy fight for Loma in a second fight. I see a stoppage win if Loma turns it on early. Loma took longer than usual to get going but once he did it was all Loma. He dominated it in the second half.
He could, but he will have to walk through fire to make it happen. He still got tagged a lot in the rounds he won and Lopez adjusted to the aggressive style in round 12. However, that's just the way it has to be sometimes. Loma is quicker and he was the only one to land big combos, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. However that said, I probably would favor Lopez to take the rematch if they did fight again.
Its still a 50-50, unpredictable how either would necessarily adjust for a rematch. I would say this, I think Lomachenko would need to walk down Lopez like he did in later rounds. Lopez is very hittable and Loma would need to watch for a big counter, but his speed would definitely help his aggressiveness. The body shots were a big role in winning for Lopez, so i'd be interesting if the same story carried into the rematch.
Loma’s an offensive fighter. It’s always risky moving up in weight, but it’s especially dangerous if your general approach is offensive, given the size difference. Perhaps if Loma had some real pop to his shots. As it stands, I think Lopez, while not as talented as Loma, is still talented. So he’s really able to impose his size and athleticism on Loma. Kind of reminds me of Spence at 147; technically good and physically very imposing. In conclusion, it will be difficult for the ageing, and much smaller, Loma to win the rematch.
I agree. Loma started too late. That being said, TL could make adjustments as well. Loma pretty much gave away the first 7 rounds. Terrible strategy. Usually he steps on the gas around the 4th. If there is a rematch, Loma needs to apply smart pressures from the opening round, win 3 or 4 of the first 6, step it up and see if Lopez can make adjustment and keep up.
this could not be further from the truth and loma fought the absolute best he could ever fare vs Lopez the beatings would multiply from here on out was truthfully a mismatch
