I've been thinking about this a lot today. Where does Loma go from here? Being 32yrs old now it won't be comfortable to hit the 130lb limit (being that he was 145lb at the 30 day weight check). That being said he could get Berchelt, Herring, Shakur, Frampton or Gary Russell Jr. Nobody is ducking this guy anymore. But maybe if he truly believes he won this fight and had Lopez figured out in the 2nd half then he has to pressure the rematch. Lopez has to wait for Taylor/Ramirez to wrap up which is gonna be a while. I don't believe that Garcia, Haney or Tank what any part of Lopez. The most profitable fight is a rematch.
If you keep on moving up you will eventually reach the limits where your superior skills cannot offset the size and power disadvantages against you. Loma has definitely reached that limit. Also at 32 years old, father time is knocking on his door.
And yet we have people saying he should fight Manny who looked like tank in the ring against Thurman whos far bigger than Loma.
If you go on Anabolics for a decade, it becomes very hard to move down. Old time boxers barely were able to move down and they were just losing fat/water, modern boxers come with 100% active-duty muscle, new mass that they synced into their body in training camps, it will take a very long time to condense the weight back without harming their overall performance. It can be accelerated with other PEDs that can accelerate the reversal. Rigo was able to drop to 118, because he never bulked up in the first place
He was good enough to be unified 135lbs champion. Saying that, 135lbs is probably his limit unless there is a weak 140lbs belt holder he can run rings around and take the belt off easily.
Multi-division belts mean (zero) in the PED era, all bulked up small boxers fighting with each other as they mutually debase themselves of any real boxing ability to the actual weight class. It puts the natural contenders at a great disadvantage, a 5'11" Light Welter has to wait around while 5'02" (listed as 5'04" blown up Bantams fight each other in his division). If the 5'11" natural Light Welter is any good, he get on the PED regime and is barely making Middleweight limit by the time he is on DAZN and big boxing.
So in a roundabout way, you're saying that Canelo's multi weight titles mean nothing because he is a proven PED juicer?
All top boxers are on Anaoblics, which is mainstream. Canelo longevity and wins over big names (GGG, Kova) mean something, had Broner beaten a big name as he moved up he would have been in the same category as Canelo and Loma.
