Can't believe the amount of people that were jerking off over Lomachenko especially Bellew (lol), saying he was the best p4p fighter on the planet, despite having so few professional fights. He looked like a cracking fighter, but not nearly enough pro fights to be considered the best. For me it's Tyson Fury, the reason I say this? Skill + Insane Physicality. It's his physical attributes on top of his skill level that separate him from the rest and make him so insane. Because on top of being extremely skilled, with the ability to fight in different styles/approaches, and being a very well round boxer, he's got incredible physical abilities, and that's what makes him the best IMO. Insane stamina, even when he's overweight, a great chin and powers of recovery. Insane speed for someone that's 6ft 9 and often overweight, and insane reflexes. He has a great offense and easily the best defence of any boxer at heavyweight. He also has good survival instincts and keeps his head when hurt. He's had his bad moments where's not performed great and looked vulnerable, like against Wallin, but lets face it, he wasn't fighting near 100% in that fight, and didn't look focused at the beginning. His only massive negative is that sometimes he doesn't take smaller fights seriously.
Anyone who is arguably #1 heavyweight on the planet shouldn't care about this "p4p" nonsense. "p4p" is pure fantasy. Heavyweight is real. The best heavyweight is the champion of all boxing. The lower weight classes are just for guys who can't compete against the REAL top dogs.
For beating a D league basketball player who started boxing in his 20s ( a guy who has been outboxed by almost every half decent opponent he has faced) and a 40 year old Wlad. I don’t think so. I’d rank Teo higher . I’d even say Loma should still be ranked higher than Fury even with his loss to Teo. Fury still hasn’t really faced a legit prime boxer . Everyone knows Wilder was trash and there was a reason Fury came out of retirement to fight him. It wouldn’t shock me if Fury shelled up and went back into retirement before fighting again. Trust me , Fury is not as good as people are making him out to be ...and honestly .. Joshua has been better at facing consistently good opposition at heavyweight ... having beaten several top ten heavyweights back to back to back ...
40 year old Wlad would probably be rank 3 right now. 40 year old Wlad almost beat AJ! It's the fact that Fury has dominated both Wilder and Wladmir so convincingly that's impressive, as well as being undefeated also. Wilder would still KO anyone bellow Joshua, and I'm convinced it's still a 50/50 between AJ and Wilder. Wilder's boxing abilities suck, but it doesn't matter, he still KO's everyone. If he can catch Fury, he can catch anyone in the division. Any people are now gonna say lopez because he beat Loma and people jerking off over Loma too quickly. At least Fury has 30 fights under his belt. Lopez and Loma have only just over a dozen fights each. Ridiculous insinuating they deserve to be considered best P4P yet. Stupid. If you don't think Fury's dominance over Wlad or Wilder is impressive, who do you see in the HW division beating Fury? Joshua? Who only just made it past Wlad who Fury dominated?
I also think it's funny that people mention people's age as if it automatically makes it less of an achievement if you beat them. You have to look at each individual fighter on who they are. A 40 year old Wlad is Wlad out of his prime, but it doesn't mean he was an easy opponent. The Wlad who fought Joshua would still beat everyone in the division besides the top 2. I'm confident of that. He'd be atleast top 5 quality, and Fury was clearly dominant back then and he's improved since.
Damn right 10 years ago it was all Pac, Floyd and Wlad. But today, Nope Fury can't be in there. Why the hell not. P4P has never been about weight either, its been about achievements and skill. So Fury is in there. Crawford has skill but he ain't beat nobody but everyone has him in their P4P lists.
Fury doesn't have longevity like Wlad, or great wins. His best are low skills Wilder and ancient Klitschko.
Fury fans were adamant Wilder was king of the bums, yet after the rematch Fury became the GOAT beating Ali and prime Tyson on the same night. Fury is very good but there is lots left to prove.
There was nothing impressive about Fury’s victory over Wlad especially given the fact that Klitschko dropped 4-5 rounds to Jennings of all people in the fight prior to Fury. Joshua dominated Klitschko from the opening bell. Joshuas jabs were pushing Klitschkos entire body back. Klitschko only had some success after a green Joshua gassed himself trying to knock Wlad out and started taking rounds off. Fact is A green Joshua knocked Wlad down three times and knocked the **** out of him and has done the same thing to multiple top ten heavyweights while fury has only beaten 2 top ten heavyweights in the past 5 years
I'm sorry, but dominating Wlad, regardless of his age, was a fantastic achievement. Fury was completely Dominate over Wlad. Joshua didn't dominate Wlad at all. He had a better start, gassed himself out, then Wlad took most of the rounds after the 5th. The score cards were very close. I had Wlad up on rounds before the 11th, and I'm sure I remember one of the judges had Wlad winning also. Joshua didn't dominate Wlad over the course of a match, and if you look at the match stats, Wlad landed considerably better on Jabs, and was slightly inferior on power shots. Fury dominated Wlad Joshua beat him, but not by that much. The 11th round was the deciding factor. Joshua got his second wind and finished him off. If it wasn't for that, the match was on the verge of being even.
Just furthering my point above, here's the proof -https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-4459454/Anthony-Joshua-vs-Wladimir-Klitschko-winner-SCORECARD.html One judge scored it 95-94 for wlad, the others had it 95-93,96-93. I personally had Wlad up by one round as well at the time. Fans scorecards were divided, some people felt Joshua won by 2-3 rounds, some people had Wlad winning by 1-2 rounds also. So the match was close, if it wasn't for the 11th round carnage, the fight could have gone either way on the scorecards.
Knocking a man down three times in one fight and virtually separating him from his senses = domination. If that’s not dominant , I don’t know what is. And beating a Klitschko that just dropped 4-5 rounds to a gatekeeper level fighter is not all that impressive. Joshua has beaten 8 top ten ranked heavyweights and will be 9 if he beats Pulev in December. Fury has beaten two top ten heavyweights his entire career.
