Smith Ryder was a robbery. Just because a fight is closer doesn't make it any less of a robbery especially when you get wide cards.

It wasn't just closer it was much closer. A close fight cannot by definition be a robbery as boxing is to a great extent subjective when there are no clear knockdowns.

Smith vs Ryder was a fight where I think the wrong man won but it was nowhere near as wide or controversial as what happened last night and there's no point pretending otherwise.

Anyone see Robert Smith's interview? He basically said there was nothing controversial about the fight and did so completely arrogantly.

The sport in the UK is screwed with the old boys brigade. Anyone who isn't a home fighter is getting into the ring with one arm tied behind their back and the bbbc are the one's who have tied the knot.

Rotten from the top to the bottom. I always come back for more, but it's a real turn off I must say.

When the cards are filled in before the fight, it's a robbery.

There cannot be anything worse than a fighter working his arris off for a full camp, delivering a great winning performance on the night only for a bunch of crooks giving the nod to opponent.

Even worse is when opponent gives a post fight interview stating they thought they won.

The only way this stops is for fighters such as Ritson and Tyrone McKenna refusing to accept these obscene decisions post fight and give the opponent an immediate rematch for the fight to be properly won and lost.

As for Smith at the BBBOC, he needs sacked tomorrow or that outfit needs closed with a new governing body put in place.

All I can say is... Robert Smiths interview shocked and disturbed me far more than O'Connors scorecard, that's how bad that interview was.

It was arrogant, with zero self awareness, a complete and utter disregard for boxing fans, he showed exactly what people in boxing think about fans and any complaints, it was outrageous.

It was Smith basically saying he won't listen to complaints by people who are not "qualified", I took that as meaning if you are not above him in terms of experience inside boxing he doesn't want to hear it.

It was an "up yours, we will do as we please, we don't care what you think" to boxing fans.

All that did was prove beyond doubt the BBBofC are not fit for purpose, Robert Smith in my opinion has to go with O'Connor, the BBBofC are rotten to the core in my opinion.

It's jobs for the boys, defend each other at all costs regardless of how outrageously poor they perform.

Anybody tell me the last time you heard the BBBofC holding a referee or judge to account?

It simply doesn't happen, they hide behind "they judge what they see" with judges and excuse scorecards that look criminal and "it's a tough job and you have to make decisions in a split second" when referees are stopping fights too early or taking points, or not taking points..

I’m probably one of the older fellas on here, but I can remember a time when we were just the opposite.
We were known for fair play. In fact it was said the referees who were the sole judge back then went out of their way to show they were fair and it worked against the home fighter.
It was only countries like Italy and Germany where you got shafted, we’re the kingpins now

O'Connor wasn't looking at his phone.

From the still photo that every man and his dog has now seen, it looks like a phone. If you watch the video of it, it's actually his scorecard and a pen he's holding and at the precise time the photo was taken it resembles a phone.

Watch the footage and you'll see.

Anyway that aside.... he might as well have been on his phone going off the score card that he put in because it was a joke.

I owe him and Robert Smith an apology, jumped the gun as I thought it was a phone. Should of known better and watched the video.

Now that's over with, my mind is repeating your last paragraph.

Robert Smith should have stuck to fronting The Cure.
I don't remember him being such a **** when he was wearing the black lipstick and eyeliner.

Regardless of the phone or no phone discussion, O'Connor's cards were so bad that he's either incompetent or bent & therefore either way he should be done

His cards were that ashamed they disguised themselves as a phone so the other cards wouldn't mock them.
