Yeh but it is how you lose. Loma threw that fight away by not competing for the first 6 rounds. It was not a heroic loss
They should all start with one loss on their pro record just to stop this awful risk averse matchmaking that's killing the sport.
If you fight the best when in theor prime or at the top of their game then your gonna take loses. Loma has now fought Salido when he was ranked no1 in the division, Lopez the number 2 to himself, Walters unbeaten and top 3 though was a little inactive, Russell unbeaten and top 5, Limares ranked no1 at the time, Pedraza top 5 at the time and then decent enough contenders in Campbell, Crolla Martinez to fill his resume out. Only one that was a bit weird was Rigo who was all indersized inactive and probably past his prime. Cant knock the guy for 16 fights intonhis career. Same with lopez, he took his shot when he could have easily took IBF mandatories and waited a few years like most other guys would have but he took the risk ans it paid of. Good on him, exactly what we need in the sport.
This content is protected Don't forget how many of these multiple weight champs are proven PED cheats and cherrypicked opponents as they moved up and avoided particular style match ups or the best at those weights
If a fighter at world level, takes on challenges, no swerving, fights regular then he will lose his 0 at some stage. Every fighter in history that had a proper career, with no picking and choosing, no waiting etc always lose. If there was one belt in each division and they were made to fight their mandatories regular like old school Robinson etc, then you are a complete spastic to think the 0 would remain intact. It’s 100% impossible. Spastic isn’t aimed at u btw.
No. The best need to fight the best, but also have records consisting of clean decisive, yet also exciting, victories. Also to be an ATG they need to step up in weight, but no one should fight anyone smaller than them, and anyone who does is a *****. Everyone is ruining boxing except me.
