A good fighter but the best since Ali and the best boxer that's ever lived?

People picked him to beat Mayweather at 135 like Dan Rafael, they also picked him over Duran Chavez and Ray Robinson and other greats

Matthew Macklin said he was P4P better than Sugar Ray Robinson during the Luke Campbell fight

Why were these accolades given before they were proven or were people caught up in the hype?

Lopez is the same size as Loma and beat him relatively easily while Loma was in his prime and established at the weight with 3 belts.

A good fighter at 130lb and claimed by his fans to be unbeatable there. Broner also looked sensational there until he moved up and fought fighters his own size without cutting and dehydrating.

I don't know if Loma is the most over rated in history. But well his fans you know. They like to hype up his back ground in the amateurs, The gold medal , the flashy flash moves you know . Also Loma fanboys complain why the comparison to mayweather? Well it was then who compared him to mayweather and beyond to begin with . anyways that is just the media and the loma fanboys. Loma as a fighter himself i still see greatness in him . i still like him . i really hope he drops down in weight lol . i actually wanted him to move up to 140 back then . but no way in hell do i want that now. I want loma at 130 or 126 . i prefer loma go to 126 for a possible future super fight with Inoue. But i can dream all i want for that fight i don't know the chances of it coming are. Id be hyped for Loma vs Stevenson but stevenson has not applied himself as a player at all. I chose teo to beat loma and he did. Loma was shown as overrated and he was. Despite all that i still see greatness in Loma. Loma unified with 2 other champions at 135. Beat 1 top contender at 135 . he gave us great performances with walters and rigo. 3 division champ. I still see greatness in Loma . there is still good fights that we can see .

Also i didn't like Loma fanboys hyping up Loma. Let's not start hyping up Lopez either. I hate cults. Loma fanboys were humbled . hopefully lopez fanboys don't start up.

His career was carefully orchestrated to generate maximum hype

I don't understand why Loma and GGG were so much more hyped than other EE fighters like Usyk, Beterbiev and Kovalev. Because the latter were better than the former.

    Loma
    Kovalev/GGG
    Usyk
    Beterbiev

Please, rarely do we see a fighter quit on his stool but Lomachenko had four consecutive fights end when his opponent simply quit out of frustration.

When in the history of boxing has that ever occurred before?

Loma and GGG at the bottom. Kovalev beat Ward and got robbed. Beterbiev destroyed the top man at 175. And Usyk has beaten Breidis and Gassiev convincingly.

I think, the thing with Loma is he was already known as arguably the greatest amateur boxer ever.

So the theory there is if he can realise his skills in the professional game he'd be arguably the greatest professional boxer ever as well and if that wasn't realised then you could fall back on him being the most skilled.

He earnt his rankings and his belts, I never quite felt he was deserving of goat level talk

Skills wise I'd have to agree.
