i think he lacks the pop to complicate things too much for tank. but if his jaw doesnt crack, he could beat tank on activity. leo is pretty tough, but this is the hardest puncher he has yet to face, and hes also quick.
I picked Leo when the match was announced, I don't think Tank hits quite as hard as people think he does, and as we've seen with the Pedraza and even occasionally in the Gamboa fight, he freezes up and looks like a lost puppy dog when his opponent lands in combination on him, if there's anything Leo does well... it's landing in combination constantly, as in from beginning to end non-stop. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think he's going to be quite as active because he'll fear what's coming back at him, but Leo showed he's quite adept at making adjustments, remember the brilliant back foot counter punching display he put on against Carl Frampton in the rematch? So the idea that he beat Tank if can keep hi. at the end of his jab and tee off on him in combination while constantly on the move, it's not out of the question. I think Leo, who is yes... the smarter boxer, is going to adjust on the fly, maybe several times during the match, and do just enough to get the job done.
It will not be an upset 2 very good 5'04" natural Bantamweights going at it. Hopefully it turns out to a Paulie Ayala vs Johnny Tapia type of fight
Well, LSC has height and reach advantages, he is better technically, he also has a wealth of experience. I personally wouldn't regard this as much of an upset even though the bookies have Davis 1/5 fav. I think many people are just just looking at Davis' KO ratio, looking at LSC stepping up in weight and putting those two facts together and getting a Davis Stoppage win. And that could happen but you can't just look at those two pieces of information and disregard all the other factors that come in to play. If LSC is smart, disciplined and comes up with a solid tactic then Davis is in for a very tough night, it isn't just as simple as turning up and hitting LSC and going home the winner.
Hence why he was the clear choice to be Tank’s PPV debut opponent.. If Leo wins it says a lot more about Tank than Leo.. But one can’t ignore that significant reach advantage so we’ll learn a lot about Tank’s ability to negate a good jab..
I was watching the all access for the fight and Davis comes of looking like a ***** cause of Floyd. Davis , you’re a grown man. You don’t need to be sitting next to Floyd for an interview. Floyd don’t need to talk for you.
LSC could definitely win, but he likes getting into fire fights and going up in weight against a banger doesn't necessarily bode for him. However I love his style and will be rooting for the upset.
I don't like LSC. He did a lot of whining about how much of a supposed advantage Frampton had fighting him in NYC when he was just clearly outthought in their initial match up. I don't like Tank either so either losing is a win for me.
If Leo can take the punch, hes got a shot. Simple as that. Tank is explosive but hes never been in a real dog fight yet. We may be in for another upset come halloween night. We'll see.
I wouldnt even consider it a massive upset. Santa Cruz is an under rated boxer, I could see him winning a decision. Hes not just a mindless pressure fighter.
