Do you know how many MLB pitchers pitch though pain and no one's the wiser until they announce they're having season ending surgery? The stress of throwing and torquing a 90s mph fastball is much higher than throwing a power punch, yet you don't see pitchers wincing in pain on the mound. And they don't have half the adrenaline pumping through them like a boxing literally fighting for his life in the ring.

Funny, guy literally said he was 100% right before the fight. Gets whooped, then says he was injured. He probably watched the fight, realized how badly he got outclassed and blamed it on the shoulder.

 

I would never have expected it to be his doctor or surgeon to leak the news but to expect him to hush and cover up a surgical procedure to just to not look like sour grapes/spoil the Lopez wankathon going on right now is ridiculous. These things always come out as for the large part fans want to know these things.

He's been advised to get surgery and he's getting it. It's not a big deal and should help generate hype for a rematch if both parties want it.

 

Getting unnecessary surgery would be some commitment to a creating a fake excuse.
