Also the idea that a highly celebrated multi-millionaire surgeon would risk his professional reputation and career to hype a fight seems laughable to me the more I think about it.

Who knew people would take the news this badly? Relax guys, we all think Lopez was a worthy winner the other night. Lomachenko wasn't so clearly injured to invalidate a great win. He did enough down the back stretch to prove that.

 

like i said, if he wants to sell more hogs, then say it was an injury from the fight, he wont lose any customers, and he can be a stand up guy towards the man who agreed to face him man to man.

One thing's for sure Loma isn't anywhere near P4P #1 at this point. Many on this forum had him P4P #1 for some time and continued to perpetuate that. What happened over the weekend clearly shows how wrong those people have been.

And injuries are a part of P4P. P4P is about your body and your fitness. When you talk about Pound 4 Pound it has a lot to do with your body as a fighter, it's about being a well oiled machine as a fighter. Loma's body is not holding up. We heard about injuries in past fights and now this. He's a talented fighter but he's nowhere near P4P #1. If his body held up, if he could have avoided injuries, maybe you'd have an argument.

 

I prefer whatever the truthful answer is myself.

 

i believe if that were true, you would be a little more upset with loma claiming he was fit, when he wasnt.

So there I've said that I don't approve of fighters pretending to be fit when they're not. I 'hate' it. I've also said that this news will make people more interested in the rematch they might not have given Lomachenko much of a chance of winning had they not been aware of. There's no contradictory statements there.
