You're a weird dude. Ali's jab was probably his best weapon. It was one of the reasons he was so hard to hit because of the distance he got from it. And it was a snapping jab when he wanted it to be.
Yes against little fellas, but fellas his own height with a jab had success, it’s there to see, now if your talking legs, then that was a more impressive area for him or speed
I don't know what you mean by little fellas because he out jabbed fighters his own size, taller fighters and fighters with longer reaches. His footwork combined with this fast hands with the jab as the vanguard it what made him. One might be more impressive than the other both were elite.
He was a very good jabber, Holmes Liston and Wlads are more than just a fast flick point scorer, they are next level again, even Bugner could jab with Ali when he decided to, Jimmy young etc, I give Ali an 8.5/10. The 3 I mentioned all prime had power too that Ali never had
I agree with this. The ref should have deducted points much earlier and more of them. The Povetkin fight could have been a classic and instead it was bloody awful. I know that champions throughout boxing history have hit and held but I've never really been a fan of it. Povetkin might have had an actual chance to win, but he had no chance when Wlad smothered him like that.
True but dont think there would have been dq lose. Wlad would have fought differently after warnings. But yeah ref ruined the fight
I always liked the younger Wlad. Superb ramrod accurate jab, murderous power in either hand, fast, athletic, threw beautiful right hands, left hooks, short left hooks, really fast double and triple left hooks, hooking of the jab beautifully, and that vicious little left uppercut/come hook on the inside too. Wlad was a great boxer but he had five losses. Four of which he didn't try to rematch and turn into a win. The same people who ignore that jump all over Lennox for two loses that he did turn into wins. People seem to give Wlad a much rosier view. Why is that ?
Not all of us. I rate Lennox 3-4 of all time, Wladdy maybe 9-10. both great fighters, but Lennox a bit better. Losses matter, but lots of great fighters had early or multiple losses...Dempsey, Johnson, Schmeling, Walcott, Charles, Lennox, Wladdy. Even Joe Louis had the Schmeling loss.
His reign is an absolute joke - look at the names on it. Either short or fat opponents. Most on this forum just look at the numbers and don't go any further - clueless. I had to laugh at "schooled Povetkin" - if you think that's a schooling then you're no boxing fan. One of the most disgraceful performances from both boxer and referee I have ever seen. People love to big him up these days because they use his name as a vehicle to discrediting this era's best heavyweights, among other things. Let's not ignore the fact that he was stopped by Ross Puritty, Corie Sanders and Lamon Brewster. He then stepped up to Tyson Fury and got absolutely schooled, despite all of his antics in the buildup and including fight night - tampering with the ring, absolutely ridiculous. However, people buy into the fake persona - gentleman in and out of the ring - that's the power of marketing. I won't be duped. Your post is a joke, just like all of the monthly "Wladimir Klitschko was a legend" threads, by people who couldn't have gave a damn about him during his career and ran him out of America due to the fact there was no demand from fans. Vitali Klitschko was by far the better.
Fury basically scraped by him. That was no schooling, and it was one of the worst versions of Wlad that I've seen.
