One word to describe Loma's mental exercises that he always does and brags about.

    GAY

There is no substitution for going in there and punching the other guy really hard in the face. Maybe he should try that instead.

they serve a purpose, but are just substitutes for traditional training methods. most of that training could be substituted by the double end bag, they accomplish the same thing. actually, the bag is better because the weight of the glove also builds stamina in your arms, while sharpening hand eye coordination.

Can you imagine Tyson Fury trying to do these ridiculous training exercises. I imagine you get some response like "**** off mate, let me just go in there and punch the dosser".

It is odd for someone who has boxed their whole life and been successful as Loma to need a phycologist because he thinks it keeps him mentally sharp, whatever floats his boat.

So Loma mentally outpunched Lopez in rounds 1-7. Just his hands didn’t get the message.

Lets not go too much into mental strength here.

Tyson Fury nearly topped himself, now if that's not a sign of a mental midget don't know what is.

Suffering with depression and bipolar disorder outside of boxing is different to entering the ring and fighting another man. Fury is a born and bred fighting man, mentally untouchable in a boxing ring.

But Outside the ring , he's an insecure mental midget, addicted to coke.

Sounds like he would make good use of those mental exercises.

Coming back from depression without the aid of meds or extensive therapy takes incredible mental fortitude. Not to mention it's something he can't control and something he's dealt with for much of his life while becoming a top class boxer.

If you don't know how mental illness works don't comment on it.

Loma's unorthodox training methods have made him the fighter he is today, his father is a genius imo. I have no problems with his methods they have worked.

I’m interested to see what changes they make going forward. The ability to adapt is an element of genius and greatness.

Tiger Woods won the Masters by the widest margin ever and then took time off to completely retool his swing and changed his game. He didn’t wait for the competition to catch up, he anticipated it instead of reacting to it.

The competition just caught up with Loma. That’s not to say he should not do ‘mental exercises’ going forward, but he should tweak his preparation (physically and mentally) to try to maintain (or regain, I guess) and edge and also to reflect the reality that he’s not getting any younger and will see lapses in his physical ability in accordance with that.
